2017 TLX terrible road noise

I bought this car with 35k miles on it. Car had brand new tires, but they were of very low quality. I blamed the noise on the lousy tires.

Now mileage of 70k and I replaced the tires with Michelin Defender 2's. I chose these because I have them on my wife's 2020 MDX and we love them because they are so smooth and extremely quiet.

The road noise on my TLX is unchanged, perhaps worse, with these new tires!!

Is there another potential cause for this? It's driving me insane and I'm thinking of getting rid of it. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!!!

Reviews say the 2017 should be relatively quiet. Having said that, and admittedly a long shot but the 2015 which is similar had a run of production where (4) body plugs were left out and that created a noise that was described as fluttering. Again, a longshot…

Good luck.

The Mods will need to move this from this forum to the TLX forum. This forum is for help with the website and not your car. @Ron A

Welcome to the forums. The forum where you originally posted, the AcuraZine User Help, Support & Suggestions Area , is meant for problems, comments, and suggestions for the website itself, so I moved your thread to the car specific forum applicable to your vehicle.

This was explained in the sticky thread at the top of that forum, or click here if you can't find it, which will explain why you shouldn't have posted your thread there.
