Safety first.

Someone should round up a the PD in the world, fill a supertanker full of it and sink in the middle of the Mariana Trench.

I'd love to jump on the hatewagon.. I really would.

But light actually escapes the dip when applied properly. I'm pretty sure tinting any light and no exposed rear reflector is illegal in CA, so no comment on that. Tinting the taillight with plastidip is becoming more popular because it's easier than applying tint, and can be removed.

Also.. Oakland.. I wouldn't be pressing my fucking brake anywhere in East Oakland.

Blacked out tail lights don't look good. On any car. On any body color.

Red, all the way. LIGHT smoke is nice. Anything else looks like butts.

We all have different tastes. Your money, your rules. I just hope that those dipped tail lights dont come at the expense of other peoples safety on the road

Hmmm, well I guess I have 2 things to say:

1. I, personally, don't like "murdering out" all the items of the black TLX because I think the chrome pieces give some contrast. I kinda like the look of dipping the beak, but I like the look of the A logo left chrome.

2. It's your car, and it's how you like it to look. That's what is go great about having the ability to personalize our cars, that we can make them look how we want. You're the one paying for it, and driving it, so whatever makes you happy is the main thing.

It's nice that you posted the pictures and that's the best part about forums is that many ideas and things like this can be done to give other owners insight into what it would look like, or the difficulty in doing it, or so on....

So thanks for posting, and don't let anyone tell you what YOU like

P.S. I hope you didn't alter the taillights to the point where they are unsafe.

Don't listen to these old queens on here. They are the type who just buy their cars and just drive them. No personalization. Lemmings. Your car looks great and it's your car! Not theirs! Glad to see people customizing these.

I think the safety issue that most of us brought up is a valid point.

And obviously, the fact that he posted means that he should be expecting comments whether good or bad. and just like how he is entitled to his own customization, we are entitled to our own opinion.

What safety issue? The LED will shine through. I see it everywhere. Black tailight covers and even headlight covers. Most people on this forum put down anyone who does anything to their car. Probablly the over 50 crowd. It's just a light tint. It looks darker due to the pics. LED shines bright.

That's your opinion. Some people enjoy customizing cars. Get over yourself. It may be hard for you to see up on that high horse

Yeah.. we all drive stock cars yet go on an Acura enthusiast website. Got it buddy Our opinions are ours, you don't like it, just overlook it. OP posted a picture on a public forum, I doubt he was dumb enough to expect everyone to jump on his cawk.

Seeing it everywhere doesn't make it legal. Also just because it's not illegal doesn't mean it's still not safe. People speed well over the limit all the time, is it no longer illegal?? Is it still safe?

bullshit. stop making overgeneralized statements about people you don't know. you've been here all of a month and you know 'most people'?

Come to think of it, not only are we expressing opinions, we are reiterating CA vehicle codes to him:

CVC 26101

(a) A person shall not sell or offer for sale for use upon or as part of the equipment of a vehicle any device that is intended to modify the original design or performance of any lighting equipment, safety glazing material, or other device, unless the modifying device meets the provisions of Section 26104.
(b) A person shall not use upon a vehicle, and a person shall not drive a vehicle upon a highway that has installed a device that is intended to modify the original design or performance of a lighting, safety glazing material, or other device, unless the modifying device complies with Section 26104.

CAL. VEH. CODE § 26101 : California Code - Section 26101
