No problem. The second video is my favorite. Shows off the jewel eyes in action. I also like the color of the prototype. IMO Acura chose well with this color.
That's what I was thinking as well. Maybe the bumpers and side skirts will be part of the "A Spec" package for the 5G as well as similar wheels?

The blades front and rear (are they canards?) were controversial and a lot of people who saw them thought they were weird and risky, considering the recent past.
I wouldn't be surprised to see the production model with smoother nose, and an add-on accessory aerodynamic package for people who want to go that direction. Certainly, the accessory aero for the nose of the 4G TL worked out well and I can see the same thing with the 5G.

We know that Acura is going to tone down the front and rear bumpers....but I think they have an opportunity to do one better than the 4th gen....instead of adding a "kit"...sell the front and rear bumper from the concept. I never liked the look of the lip kit....its never looked cohesive to me.

I agree with everyone here. The proto is a great-looking car. Acura should sell it pretty much as is. They'd do very well in the marketplace, assuming competitive pricing and packaging.

Thanks for the videos guys, hadn't seen them.
Agreed. ![Thumbs Up](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/thumbsup.gif)
The last video referred to the production MDX being very toned done from the prototype. I'm sure that will happen to the same extent with the TLX.

I'm curious to see how much the TLX bumpers are toned down.
I would definitely buy the prototype as is. However, I would much rather have a tuned down NSX TTV6 under it's hood in an S-Type, A-Spec, or HPD type of package.

Thanks for posting that MtnMan. I already expect for the TLX to be toned down, especially the bumpers, side skirts, and wheels. Maybe they'll be for sell in a package.
Wishful thinking on my end. I'm just waiting to see what the interior will look like. Overall I still like the car, expecting it to sell pretty well.

Not in the mainstream press. But if you hung out over at the popular bimmer communities throughout that stretch it was just like here - people not at all happy with the differences between the two. I mean, some folks are referring to the front fascia of the new M3 with words like labia.

Good vids.....for me, the front looks so much like BMW's. I don't know if that's a good thing or not......

I agree I think they will tone it down. I just hope Acura puts a decent set of wheels on the TLX.
If you look at the MDX prototype vs. the production model yeah it was toned down but the major difference IMO is the wheels. Look how boring the production wheels make the MDX look.
If Acura would have put a wheel on it closer to the prototype wheel it would look so much better.

With the way Acura has been going with recent cars, I think they will tone down the styling from that prototype. I was really disappointed with they did from the'14 MDX prototype to the production. If it was not for the ugly grill on the 2013, I prefer that body styling over the new rounded one. I hope the new TLX keeps the somewhat aggressive styling. Looking to upgrade from my 12' TL tech!

Yeah, that is the biggest difference. Bumpers will always be toned down some, but the wheels and the stance are what contribute to making or breaking the look. Luckily, it is also one of the easiest things to change about the car.
I am willing to bet that with the right set of wheels and some spacers, even the inevitably toned down look of the production car will be dramatically improved.
