Muffler delete on '15 TLX V6

Anyone did a muffler delete on their TLX? I would love to hear how it sounds.

I would but it's illegal where I am from and we have to get safety's every 2 years so then I would have to get someone to weld it back on for me.

I was gonna ask if anyone just deleted a pair of the resonators only since there is 4 total?
If we delete just 1 pair maybe it will give just a small nice increase in sound vs chopping off the rear cans?

That's exactly what I thought when I heard him rev it. It sounds good but just a little too low for my liking still. Keeping one of the resonators will probably be a good idea.

I deleted my mufflers and replaced stock resonators with magnaflow 10416. It sounds amazing and I’m totally satisfied. I’ll post a sound bite later.

Hi IL_TLX, is there a problem passing the emissions test when deleting both mufflers? I'm guessing you live in Ilinois, right?

I am not sure if it’ll pass didn’t think that far ahead lol but yes I live in IL. Honestly, it’s been a while (10 years) since IL has told me to take a test. Reading online they require it after the car is 4 years old? I had a 12’ TSX and never got a notice and my 15’ hasn’t got a notice either.. My last car to go through one was either an 08’ RDX or 96’ CL.

As far as I know all cars (except electric) from 1995 and up need to take an emissions test every two years. I have a '97 Accord, 2007 GMC Yukon, and 2015 TLX and every two years they need to pass the emissions test for me to renew the license plates. You wouldn't have a pic of your setup? I recently ordered a rear bumper from a 2018 TLX A Spec that I'm going to install on my TLX base and I'm trying to figure what set up best works.

Hmm wonder if I will get a notice to have emissions completed as this winter will be my second year renewing license plate. Pic below. I didn’t take pics of the resonators being replaced but used magnaflow 10416 and straight pipes to the tips.

Yes, you'll most likely get a renewal notice to take your car to pass the emissions test and then then get ready to pay for the new $151 renewal fee, smh. I'm taking my 97 Accord later on today to pass the emissions test since they opened back up three days ago. I'll try to find out if muffler deletes affect anything. But, your car looks real good. Is your TLX an A Spec or did you do the rear bumper conversion like I'm planning on doing on mines?

Thanks! I got many compliments especially after the car wash n wax. Mine is a 2015 tech v6, I did the conversion and got the bumper color matched. Install was easy, had a shop do the exhaust work. I installed the spoiler lip as well. Do you plan on doing straight pipes or replacing your muffler? I never researched what muffler would fit so I’m curious.
