So for several weeks I have noticed a strange sort of double vibration sound coming from the sub-woofer for random songs on my HD. These songs had base, but not necessarily the loudest base in my playlist. e.g. Justify my Love, Madonna.

Yesterday, I went into my Acura dealership, who have a truly fabulous service department (and sales and parts). I sat with the Service Advisor and the Manager listening to a few of the tunes that created the strange output. Within minutes, the Advisor, somewhat of an audiophile, diagnosed the problem to be a vibration caused by the cover of the rear window brake light. When he put his finger there to hold it securely in place, vibration fixed! The Service Tech who was also sitting in, suggested the order a new one, in case the clips were worn, and he will install it with some insulation to make more secure.

I was ecstatic that this was not a sound system issue per se, and once again, with the fabulous customer service. The fix will be installed next Saturday and i'll post to confirm a successful ending to the issue.

They replaced the four clips and the strange double vibration noise is gone. However, I do notice that for the odd song on my HD that is base heavy (Justify my Love, When a Man Loves a Woman, With or Without You), I get some bass distortion when I have the Bass and Sub Woofer at 4 or higher. At 2-3 it's fine.
