Hello All:

I cannot figure out how to receive Google Hangout message notifications in my TLX I4 Tech. I use Google Hangouts as my default text messaging app (I do NOT use the text message app on the phone). I have a Samsung Note 4 with Android 4.4.4. Also, all of my text messages are sent to my Google Voice number - NOT the actual phone number of my Note 4.

Now, I do receive message notifications in the car when I receive a text message sent to my actual phone number, but since I never receive messages at this number, this set up is useless.

Has anyone had success receiving Google Hangouts message notifications using Google Voice? I have read of a few owners who do receive Google Hangouts notifications, but I think they are receiving text messages to the phones's actual phone number, not Google Voice. Thanks for any help.

I just tried it out using my GVoice number. It worked fine for me.

I had a friend text my GVoice number, while the car was on and I was in the car. The message notification showed up correctly. I then had him leave me a voicemail, and the notification showed up correctly again. I don't have automatic text to speech or anything enabled, so all that showed up was the little envelope icon.

Let me know if you'd like me to try anything else out. I'm using a Nexus 6, currently on 5.0.1 stock rooted.
