Need help with iPod.

I just picked up a TLX V6 FWD with Tech. I can't get my iPod Classic 160 GB to change playlist or album, unless I physically unplug the iPod and do it manually. When I do voice search, it just says recognizing command.

Any ideas?

Are you just having problems with the voice commands? Can you select a playlist using the buttons?

If I try to use the voice command "Music Search" during the first few minutes of starting the engine I get a message "Generating Voice Recognition Commands". I still have normal access via the buttons though.

When first starting the engine it seems that the system needs time to examine the contents of the iPod and create a database of the songs, artists, genres, playlists, podcasts, etc.,

I am using a new iPod Touch 6th gen which is not listed in the Acura owners manual as being compatible, but your Classic 160 is listed and therefore should work OK.

I am now able to search playlist and others using the menu function. I can't imagine that I will need the voice commands, as this has given me pretty convenient accessibility to all of my musical selections. Thank you!

Don't give up on the voice commands just yet. "Song By Voice" is a great feature. You should try it.

I used my old ipod and didn't work, but when i got my 5th ipod touch, tooka little longer to get familiar with it, and now it works pretty well.

I believe the instruction DVD states that some iPods might not work. My 5.5 generation Video Classic 80gb works just fine plugged into the USB port of the car. Voice commands work, albeit sometimes it can get confused if a song name is the same as an album name.

I did pull out the stock iPod HD and replace it with a bigger (128gb) MicroSDcard. It works a bit faster when scrolling than it did with the original HD. The only issues I have with it are that it won't shuffle using the car's controls and I can't use the iPods built-in software to have one track flow into the next. Apparently an issue with the car's USB input (the DVD says some features only work with Bluetooth).
