I was watching a review on a BMW, and they showed this "feature". On a whim, I googled it, and low and behold there is an aftermarket add-on. I don't know how I feel about this. One side of me thinks it's kind of cool, but the sensible side of me says WTF?!?

Its super cool! You can also get any design you want. I paid something like 35-40 bucks. If you do not know what your doing install is about 6 minutes! literly!

 

Yeah, I know this is any easy mod because I already swapped the bulb once. My only "concern" is that I read that the chips only last about 6 mos or so. Is that true? In that case, it seems like having to buy replacement chips on a subscription basis.

All LED door projectors enjoy lifetime free logo chips replacement according to Home - Wind Fire Auto. They also have a bunch of other designs (pacman, skulls, sports team logos, etc.) or you can design you own chips. Really cool.

 

Sorry I haven't gotten back to your question about the life expectancy. I have had this since last February and it looks as good now as the first day I put it in. There are free lifetime replacements and if this is "too tacky" for someone, there is an inexpensive option to have any projection of your choice made. It may not be to everyone's liking, but almost everyone that spots it makes a comment about how much they like it.

 

I had his for my 15 TLX and as I was driving home with my 16 I ordered it while waiting at a light for a new one. Everyone who sees it loves it. They think it is standard and to me it adds to the luxury of the car.

 

I did mine with the typical acura logo and then I got the american flag and star trek ones. Its pretty cool looking.

 

It's interesting because several OEMs are using these as stock puddle lights. Seems kind of gimmicky to me though.

Working good but I should have ordered from Wind&Fire since they give free lifetime film replacement if burn out.

 

My friend bought the windfire. It has a plastic back compared to neotuned and their metal version. The logo is different too.
