Factory Alarm
I can't find any details on the factory alarm on Acura's website but I'm sure it comes with a standard alarm. I would like some input from current owners about how they would rate the alarm ?
I have had my wheels stolen on my TLX in a gated community (yes, most probably an inside job) and I had to shell out $400 bucks to get a clifford with tilt trigger feature. I'm in the works of signing the deal for the TLX and would like to know if that's an extra $500 that I should be expecting to deal with as soon as I drive out of the showroom.

Just curious.
No info on the alarm or features, but your post says that your wheels stolen off your TLX but your signature line does not show this and that you are signing a deal for one. Maybe a typo?
Well I had just bought my TL Type S for a month, and I thought they came with wheel locks from the factory
Yes. That was a typo. I meant Type S.
I did notice that you have the TLX and when you say no info... you mean you don't know much about it ? Cause Im pretty sure its standard ..... or is that another wrong assumption just like I made about the wheel locks on the TLX

I think most vehicles and certainly luxury or near luxury cars come standard with some sort of security system. There is traditional, motion sensor, tilt sensor, etc, but I have no information on what is on the TLX. And the TLX does not come standard with wheel locks.
I saw that the wheel locks are a separate accessory that you have to purchase. I would still buy after market wheel locks cause I simply lost my trust in the previous dealership. I was told the type S comes with wheel locks cause of their popularity. BUT, I was told this when I went back to another dealer to look for prices.

Also, when I went to get new tires, I found that the key was lost. I didn't check after I had work done at the same tire dealer months earlier. I couldn't get tires at that moment and traveled to the dealer. The dealer has a set of masters that allowed them to remove my locks so I could buy a new set.
It may be cheaper to go with the dealer versions. It helped me.
I didn't think the factory alarm has any type of motion detection? Smash/grab or finding your car on blocks is always a concern I have with the factory alarm. I always keep my MDX and RDX parked in the garage because I have aftermarket rims. I had to move the TSX outside when I purchased the MDX and it also has aftermarket rims with factory locks. I got the Viper 5806v 2-way alarm with remote start to replace the factory alarm on the TSX. I was concerned also about the Homelink to the garage door always being active if the car is broken into while outside. You can smash the window and open the garage with the factory alarm never going off (as long as you don't open the car door).
I did purchase wheel locks from RonJon Wheels when I purchased the rims for the MDX and RDX. I also added a second wheel lock from Gorilla Automotive 61641 Acorn Gorilla Guard Locks with a unique key just incase:

Creeps have nothing better to do than to take things from us. I owned a beautiful 75 Formula Firebird and it was stolen on my birthday and then on my driveway, the first of Acuras , a Legend was stolen too.
The TLX does not come with locks, you can get Mcgard as an after purchase.
Good luck

The wheel lock key was stripped by the tire dealer when I put snows on my TLX. I was told that these puzzlelock keys strip easily. I had to go back to the dealer to get the lock nuts off. I have decided not to put wheel locks back on.
I put locks on my Acura about 12 years ago when one lug went missing. There have been no problems in that time with tire rotations and changeover from summer to winter tires. But my car is exclusively serviced by the dealer. They strip it they they replace it for free.
