Entering address into GPS - crazy

I swear either I'm a total rube or the GPS for my TX has the WORST interface for entering an address.

I would be interested in knowing if anyone can enter this as a destination into their GPS and if so - how did you do it:

3030 West Gate City Blvd
Greensboro, NC 27403

Thanks!

Gah - nevermind. They recently changed the name of the road (why on earth would you do that???) from High Point Road to West Gate City Blvd.

I was able to enter it by trying an address from a nearby street (Dexter Ave) then searching for a hotal close to that address.

What a circus this modern technology is!!

I only used it a few times and the easiest way is from the voice portal once you activate the voice recognition after you press the nav button. I have found that the system is good at recognizing the street name, city and state, but I had to repeat the number of the address.

When you use voice; are you saying the whole street name at once? From my use it forces me to spell out each letter by voice. Am I doing something wrong?

No, you aren't doing something wrong. You're just not living in the States. Canadian models apparently do not allow full sentence voice input, as do the U.S. cars.

Apparently, my NJ accent isn't too bad because I use full-sentence voice input (street number, street name, city, state) just about every day, and I have over a 95% success rate on my first try each time!

The TLX has by far the worst user interface on the market, I mounted my iPhone 6 and the GPS is far superior, don't waste your time with it, just use google maps or Waze. If i knew the GPS was going to be such crap I would have never bought the option, but whatever its a lease (thank god)

Probably because it can't do French and therefore is not PC for Canada.

I use the voice command 99% of the time and it works well 99% of the time. You just say the address in the same way you would tell it to a person.

I click the voice command button on the steering wheel, say "address" and click again and say "1234 Main Street, City, State" and the system plugs in the address.

99% sure this is actually the reason. Totally serious too.

I find if I just say the address as one long string it will enter fine. So, "1-2-3 Main Street San Francisco California" works. Sometimes I have to try a second time, but that might be a matter of road noise or my not speaking clearly enough. Doing it manually when the car is stopped takes a lot of time, either with the scroll wheel or with the touch screen.

haha; lol; I've tried entering 1367 1st Avenue, NYC, 10021, at least 6 or 7 times
The ELS Nav. system just doesn't get it right
Tried by Place Name, Zip code, Address, etc.
Google Maps, Apple Maps, Wave, etc., are all fine
If anyone can figure out why............................................... ..................; please IM me
It's my favorite Chinese restaurant!
thx!

I don't think it knows postal codes.

Try this: thirteen sixty-seven first avenue, New York, New York with *brief* pauses at the commas - just say it naturally like you would to a person.
