AcuraLink in Canada

I don't know if anyone has seen this page AcuraLink Tiers for Canada. It suggests that the standard package is free for 4 years. I think it is internally inconsistent on Aha. The opening descriptions seem to indicate that Aha is available as part of the standard package but the descriptions lower on the page indicate it is part of the Connect Package. My subscription information on the car indicates that my subscription to all 3 levels of service is for one year only. I am wondering whether I should raise this with Acura now or at the end of the my one year.

I would be interested to hear the results of your inquiry, sooner rather than later, as I could not find anything in the hand over documentation. The Canadian number for the service is 1-888-922-8729.

I think I will call Acuralink tomorrow when they are open.

I recommend you take a screen capture so you can make sure you get it in case its a mistake and they go and edit the website without warning

Internet information, even within Honda/Acura's own website, is often outdated, misprinted, or wrong.

Only your subscription document(s) will provide the correct and valid information about any subscription services/contracts.

I do have a screen capture. I actually saw this page before I bought. Would not say that I wouldn't have leased the car if the info was different but it was something I considered. I wanted traffic info for the life of my lease.

Well I spoke to Acuralink in Canada this morning. The page I posted outlined the way the program worked in 2014 and will need to be amended. Therefore, I will have to pay for maps after one year. I also pointed out some other problems with the information on this page.

I was advised that in Canada he thought that the cost of the Standard Service would be about $70 per year and for Connect about $170 per year. I didn't ask about Premium because I would never pay for that service. I know I will pay for the Standard service but not sure if I would pay the extra for Connect.

Thanks for that....standard includes traffic and maintenance. AHA is free afaik. Connect is crash notification (should be free - is on Hondas) stolen vehicle locator, SOS, remote door lock/unlock,, alarm notification, car finder - honks horn, flashes lights, destination download, low power mode (what is that?) and vehicle status. So all you lose is the concierge facility. None of it is really a need...but it's pretty nice having all this stuff right now. Acura CR owes me a call - I will check on cost of premium, but whatever I doubt I'll pay it.

Thanks for getting the clarification. I don't have to make a decision until end of next summer so I will see how much I really use it.

I was hoping they would offer me something for bringing the error to their attention. Didn't happen. Oh well.

It is totally absurd that a safety feature I can get for free on a Honda I have to pay $190 for on a Acura (the emergency services notification). This seriously is the kind of thing Acura ought to lose sales over. It is a disgrace.

what I love, is the acuralink tap was turned off right on the 1 yr anniversary of my purchase, and I can't seem to find any info on pricing or renewing the service, and definitely got no mailing from acura about renewing etc.

I guess I am going to have to call the dealership...

It is as if they do not really want your business. Is there any other subscription service that just looses contact with their customer when the term ends, and not even make a mild inquiry about renewing?

And I have tried going into myacura.ca and clicking acuralink and it produces a popup saying to register your vehicle by adding it to your profile. My car is already in my profile (add it again?)

Then tried calling the dealership, and they said do it online, or call 18889228729, then asked how to do it online, and they said call that number and ask.

Called that number twice today. First time was on hold for ever, and called back afterwork. Talked to someone and was told to call the acuralink number. I said well this is the number the dealership told me to call. He gave me another number18553355465. I asked what time they are open till, and he said I think it is 24 hours but at least until 9pm est. I just called this new number and they closed at 6 est.

And you can't even contact acura link operators by using the button in the car... They turn that off.

I can't believe it is this hard deal with.

This is a business case study about how to successfully shoot yourself in the foot. The engineers built and delivered the system as designed, but the bean counters got involved and cut off funds required for the support team.

All the best laid plans made by man were screwed up by the mice.

I just called them and I gotta say they seem to have taken a play from the xm radio playbook...

The standard package is 68$, the connect package is 198$ and the premium package is 118...

Wha? That makes no sense... Well then they tell you that the charges are additive. So let's say you want the connect package, they charge you 266$... If you want all three I hope there is lube included for 384$/yr. and this for services that in my experience are spotty at best and half baked at worst.
