Why I'm not a TLX owner/driver

Based on all the flawed logic in different threads, I think it's fair for non current / ex TLX members to say why they don't / no longer own/lease/got one.

For me, it's simple. My old 15 TLX was a POS with no help from Acura Canada, including zero compassion when trying to lease a new MMC.

The things I want to change:
- premium tech and features
- excellent non-sale service
- Acura to be different from Honda
- remove ZF9 once and for all

How about renaming the thread "What killed TLX?"

I am not a TLX owner due to the low reliability ratings, and the fact that Acura does not appear to be standing behind its product. I was an Acura owner from 1993 through 2016, and owned only Honda's from 1984 through 1993. I am now driving a leased 2017 A4, which has been great for the year that I have had it.

The new Accord thread was closed before I got around to posting, but I like the fact that Honda is finally not requiring you to get a bigger engine to get more features on a car. The only difference between the 1.5 and 2.0 turbo cars are the engine and transmission. In the past, there were always many features that were only offered on V6 equipped cars, like with the TLX.

LOL...you didn’t lease another TLX because the dealer refused to write off nine months’ of payments on your lease, pure and simple. If your 2015 was such a POS, why would you even contemplate a 2018 to begin with?

Flawed logic indeed.

By the way, I look forward to reading this same thread over on Audizine in a couple of years’ time once you’ve realized what you’ve gotten yourself into with your A4.

Maybe to save some money instead of dumping it. Go ahead, protect Acura all you want. I tried to work with Acura. Why do you even care about my experience? Go praise this car in another thread....

See now this pisses me off, we can't say anything mean but MY STORY is MY FAULT not Acura's shit. You know what, to all who bought a TLX, enjoy it ... until then I'll enjoy REAL luxury for not that much more. Saying he didn't write off 9 (7 by the way) months is like me saying you're too poor look elsewhere... When did I say I wanted free stuff, just wanted him to work with me.

You seem so surprised by the negative reaction. Honestly, I couldn't care less if you love the TLX or hate it. What I really am puzzled by though is now that you've got an Audi, why you even come to an Acura site to keep posting negative things about a vehicle with which you've parted ways. It just seems illogical to me. If I bought a new Accord, I would find myself on the Accord forums. Had I bought a new Volvo, I'd be on the Volvo forums. Whatever car I purchased, I'd gravitate to the forums to find others who shared commonalities and compare and contrast my views with them. I don't imagine I would still hang out at the forums of the car I replaced and be dishing on it good or bad.

In all this bickering on this site lately, that's the one thing that continues to baffle me. No one is suggesting you couldn't or shouldn't have an opinion about the TLX. It just doesn't seem to make sense to me why you would even want to continue talking about it at all after getting rid of it. When I replaced my 3G TL with a 4G TL, I naturally shifted to the 4G TL forums. I loved both of my 3G TLs but honestly can't remember the last time I visited a 3G TL forum. To me it just seems counterintuitive.

Too poor to look elsewhere? I’ve had an A8, an A6, an S4, two R8s, even bought an A3 for my assistant as a year-end bonus a few years ago. I didn’t realize an A4 has become the embodiment of “real luxury”. No one is protecting Acura. They’ve made plenty of crappy cars over the years, including my former TSX, my 3G TL, and a 2012 TL SH-AWD. Acura isn’t perfect, Audi isn’t perfect, no car company is perfect.

But I specifically recall you asking me the best deal I was able to get on an A-Spec because you also wanted one. Now why would you do that if your previous car was so bad? You got yourself an A4, and you seem to be happy. It’s pointless to hold a grudge against an entire brand just because the crappy dealership you dealt with didn’t give you VVIP treatment.

Well said, I can't understand why someone who no longer owns a 4G TL would continue to follow, post on Acura 4G TL forums. Seems this forum has more Non-Acura owners that are not happy with Acura.
I had an A4 prior to my 2018 A-Spec, I don't continue to follow the A4 forums or post anything about the A4 on the A4 forums.

Moral of this forum, I don't care what you think provided it's positive by the usual fanboys....

Aren't we all biased and supposed to be so when it comes to personal preferences of personal belongings? What's weird is those who don't have vested interest in something yet biased AGAINST it and voluntarily devote their time and energy engaging others in pontless arguments about that something.

Guys, trying to find a happy balance between posting your opinions without beating a dead horse is a fine line. Add name calling and unilaterally calling allowners and enthusiasts of the TLX fanboys just gets the thread closed. Please use the Car Talk part of AcuraZine or the other 10 or so threads in this sub forum that a select few of you continue to regurgitate the same gripes and criticisms of the brand in. Thanks.
