Yup, that would have been the best of both parts of the TLX. I really wonder if they will ever make that combo. It would have been my top pick.

That being said, if you are paying for things you don't need/want, then regardless of how cheaper it is, then its not worth it. To me, if there are 5 things out of 10 that you don't want/need, the the cost per feature needs to be spread of over the 5 items remaining. For me, I don't need a V6, I don't need the SH-AWD, I am not a huge fan of the nanny stuff (blind spot, lane assist etc)....I do like things that are more luxury.

For me, I would like to get the I4 tech and offers pretty much what I want/need. I may just use the money saved from the V6 to buy different wheels.

I have the whole winter to worry about it (lol)
I get your point and its a good one. Over on the Miata forum, there were guys who said they did not need or want cruise control. Several years later, these same guys are trying to install cruise in their Miata"s. Sometimes you THINK you don't want something, but later regret not getting it. I for one will not do or need AWD as my Miata does all the handling I need. The rest of the bells and whistles will be mine! V6 for me as I drive to Ohio from DC often and need the power. I4 and West Virginia Mountains don't cut it.

^^ I hear ya. My saving grace is that I lease my vehicles are rarely keep them beyond 3 years so if I made a mistake, I'll be able to make up for it in a short period. I will never compromise on audio though....I love good quality music.

And your TLX will be unbelievably clean like the TL.

To me, the value of all those items is less than $2000. I won't be getting the V6 Advance!

^^^ That is why they are available with different specs. To each his own.

In some ways I like the car selection options in Europe. You start configuring the car with selected engine and then start adding the options and features that you want. There are a few limitation where some options require some other option. The downside is it tend to be mode expensive with a 2-3 month order to delivery time.

My ideal TLX Elite would have these differences:
- Expresso interior (available in the US but not Canada)
- Removal of rear seat heaters (rarely have passengers in the back over winter)
- Removal of remote starter (environmentally sensitive Canadian do not start their car and leave it running just to cool down or warm up)
- Elimination of HDD media storage (but I suppose it is needed for the navigation, so it just a free extra)
- one piece driver mirror as there are all the nanny aids

^ So, you "environmentally sensitive Canadians" just start the car and drive off? too funny

Hmmm..... though I personally do not do that, lots of my Canadian friends do remote start the engine and warm up before they get in.......

Quandry, espresso interior is available in Canada with white and black. Just not with the Black Copper.

It's weird how they did the color combinations. Most of the combinations that aren't in the Canadian models are available on the American models and vice versa. I can't believe parchment isn't available in the black car in the US. But then I think the US' parchment and graystone interiors work better with the blue and red exteriors than the ebony does with those colors in Canada. But then it's all just a matter of opinion, I suppose.

Just get in start and drive. There is a lot of discussion on the web about which method is better. I am not keeping the car for 500,000 km so it is not an issue for me. Do not plan to use synthetic oil either.

A far as colour combinations are concerned, I have checked and reviewed them every which way, both Canada and US. It would be nice to be able to change them every month or two and then settle on which you like best. I have made my choice and now have to live with it (and hopefully love it with no regrets).
