TLX had best month ever for October 2015
The TLX had best monthly sales ever for Oct 2015 at 5777 sold in the US market. Beat out Lexus ES,IS and Infinti Q50; no data yet on BMW 3 series or Mercedes C class. Most likely due to great end of model year deals on the '15's. Acura's best selling model for October. Software updates seemed to have helped some of the transmission issues with the TLX. My 2.4 is much better after the last update. Only complaint is slight thud when shifting from R to D when engine is a little cold. No more lurches at stop signs, etc. since my last update. Great car for the price !

Wow - they killed it! I guess people really respond to the super duper aggressive pricing!
Puts them at 40,585 (US sales) for the year - on track to come in between 48,000 and 50,000.
I think I may plan my next car purchase out a little better instead of purchasing the same month the new model goes on sale and having to pay close to MSRP

I will do the honors. This month's issue of Consumer Reports will certainly affect sales. Reliability is a huge selling point for any Acura, and the TLX was literally at the bottom of the compact luxury segment according to CR.

Interesting that of the 5 major luxury brands, BMW had the 2nd highest total fleet sales but the only negative percentage decrease. Mercedes had the highest total fleet sales and a percentage increase of 3.3, the second lowest increase. Acura sold 16, 079, the 3rd lowest percentage increase. Lexus had the 3rd highest vehicle sales at over 26k, and the second highest percentage increase at 13.2%. Infiniti sold the fewest vehicles at 11,143, but the highest percentage increase of 23.2%.
So after careful analysis of the numbers, and factoring in end of year sales and consumer trends, I conclude that………….that……Chevrolet had a very good month and a lot of people buy trucks

Yeah it'll be interesting to see how well the TLX continues to sell with the CR review. The C class (C300 etc.) got dinged pretty hard too. Of course, the TLX is way cheaper than the C class to buy and maintain. The C class sedan is also pretty tight inside. I'm 5'11" and felt a little cramped. Not as bad as the Lexus IS though. BMW 3 series is a great car too but you gotta pay extra $$ for everything. I'm thinking an entry level luxury car should come with at least power seats and a backup camera standard. The TLX will never match BMW's driving dynamics (my last car was a 2011 335i sedan), but it's a great, smooth everyday driver. CR was a little harsh on the 2.4 DCT. Minor software updates seemed to have corrected the problems. The 9 speed ZF seems a different matter entirely. Acura needs to dump the ZF in the TLX ASAP to save their reputation. What's funny though is the MDX switched to the same ZF 9 speed and it's transmission gets good ratings by CR. The MDX is also recommended by CR. ??? Maybe the CR rating is based on owner experiences with the old 6 speed in the MDX ?

Brand A sells 1 car & the next month 2 cars for a 100% increase period to period.
Brand B sells 100 cars & the next month 110 for only a 10% increase period to period.

Bought a V6 Tech in October as well out of the blue after shopping for the '16 Accord the last few months. Is there a breakdown of the 4-cyl vs 6-cyl? I'm pretty new to researching the TLX but know they consolidated the TSX and TL to come up with the 2 engines for the different powertrains for the TLX lineup. I'm curious about Sales Mix.

I have been told by the Acura salesman that Acura does produce more V6 compared the I4 TLXs, and more discounts and incentives are given to the V6 models.

For example, the Mercedes-Benz B-class is a big seller in Canada. 1768 sales for the USA but 1800 for Canada. Considering the population difference, the Canadian B-class is selling at a rate of ~10 times as many as the US, per capita!
I think if they offer their lower end cars here, they're starting to steal a few sales from some of the major mid-market brands including Toyota, Ford, etc.
