Wow, Infinti hardly advertises too. I have been seeing more Q50s on the road. It was nice standing out for a while.

That surprises me. Q50 aren't even on the roads here in LA, while the new IS is all over the place.
Non scientifically, for LA I would have put the list:
1) IS (they are everwhere)
2) TLX (I hardly see a few a week)
3) Q50 (don't even see them-though they have great headlight/taillight when lit)

American Honda Motor Co., Inc. today reported February Honda and Acura vehicle sales of 105,466 units, an increase of 5.0 percent versus February 2014. Sales of Acura light trucks set a new February record, rising 12.5 percent on sales of 8,415 vehicles. The Honda Division sold 92,474 vehicles in February—an increase of 4.1 percent for the month. The Acura brand posted sales of 12,992 units in February, rising 12.5 percent over the same period last year.
Trucks and SUV's are en vogue once again!

I like the Q50 Sport styling, especially in the RWD with the sexy wheels but after checking one out this past weekend, I just didn't feel the passion.
It is all subjective that is just how I felt....I must say that the TLX sure got my passion going again, especially for the price and with the body kit. It is funny because from an exterior styling...the TLX is my favorite. From a driving experience, the IS wins.
Choices....choices....choices.
Maybe I should do like Sterling, get one of each *lol*

I saw a lot of advertising when they first came out about their super duper radar safety feature that detected a baby's burp 8 cars ahead. lol. Of course that was when they were having all their electronics issues and disaster of a launch. Now I don't see any commercials for the car, but I see their cars a lot. I would've bought one if it hadn't been for those electronic glitches. I'm sure they've knocked those out by now. Either that or they're discounting like crazy.

Amen my brother. Weather wasn't just 1 factor - it was THE factor. We had the coldest February of all time here in Ohio. Who wants to go car shopping when the temps are in the single digits???? Plus I have to believe some are waiting to drive the new ILX before making a decision.
That said - I think those numbers are decent.

26.3% of Acura's sales were TLX. That's good.
March should be a big month. The weather will hopefully break - last March was a big month too because the weather broke.
Infiniti and Nissan do a lot of fleet sales in the first quarter of the year. Look at the Q50 last year:
Jan: 2949
Feb: 3275
March: 3795
April: 2626
May: 2928
June: 2423
July: 2461
Acura and Honda sale patterns are just different. Acura is up against a very big March: 15,580 units last year. The TLX will need to hit close to 4500 units and the ILX needs a huge push - both the MDX and RDX selling at record levels last March.

Let's not forget that Infiniti still sells the G37 renamed as Q40 which compete with the Q50 on the low end for the budget conscious folks...they sold 1643 of them in January.

Infiniti overall sedan sales for Feb are 6345, Acura 4577. However, overall sales show Infiniti at 11,659 vs. 12,992. As with many things, it's give and take. The question going forward will be whether the TLX+ILX (new) will outsell the Q50+Q40 and when the Q30 joins the fray? If the Q30 arrives at the same time as the rumored CDX for Acura, it will remain tight.

Infiniti SUV offering is not very strong at the moment...the current QX70 is the best looking SUV on the market in my opinion (it will be totally redesigned next year) and it has the best "regular car feeling" driving experience (together with its little brother QX50 and the Audi SQ5) but cargo space is seriously lacking for its size....is not selling very well.
The QX50 is even worse...it's just a small raised hatchback and sales not great either.
Both the QX70 and QX50 are not very practical, they are at the end of their career (aged electronics) and the public is shunning them...I find Acura advantage in the SUV space totally understandable....kind of a mirror image of the Infiniti sedans advantage.
When I got my GC SRT, I cross shopped with the two last remaining 2014 QX70 V8 left in the country (V8 is not longer an option for MY 2015) but the lack of cargo space made me rethink.
Other contenders were the BMW X5 50i and the X5 M

First the weather has been a huge factor. And I do not fully agree that combining the models hurt them much. I do wish for the 4G size and from the outside the 5G presents itself well, but does look obviously smaller than the 4G. I prefer the 4G, M37/A6 size and the TLX comes across smaller regardless of what the dimensions say.

Weather is a factor for TLX sales but not for Infiniti sales?

Agree it a non factor comparing same months sales since everybody has the same weather. Can/will effect current month to month & current month to last years month.
So far the sales have been declining & it looks like better lease/interest rates are now being offered. Our two local dealer each have about 100 cars in inventory. IMHO the spring buying season will be very important for the TLX

I have 3 dealers in about 24 miles of my house. They have a glut of 15 model years, that I am sure they will be dumping in no time, to make room for the 2016s.
SImilar to how guys paid 22K for fully loaded ILX few months back, when they were blowing out remaining 14s.

It's a well known but completely unsupported FACT that Acura dealers tend to be more Northern (cold/snow) as opposed to the girlie-man Infinity dealerships which tend to be more southern and, ipso facto, less affected by the weather. That's also (anecdotally) why Acura sells more SUV's.

What a grotesque explanation to say the least...have you checked the February weather in Dallas??
Infiniti has a stronger sedan offering where Acura as a stronger SUV offering...simple.

Q50 is selling a bunch because you can get some great discounts off of msrp. for a same price as a TLX I4 Tech ($35k), you can get a Q50 Premium which is Japan build, RWD and V6.

Other things that only affect the TLX:
- limited availability/production problems
- recalls
- stop sales
- more competitive luxury market/offerings
- not everyone wants to buy a 1st year car and be a beta tester
- people want to compare newly updated 2016 ILX to TLX before buying
- poor economy
- slower month due to tax season

But that's because they're a Jeep dealer. Reasons listed (and give in the past by TLX owners and not me) is exclusive to Acura and the TLX.
