So a few days ago there were some spy shots of an unknown/camoed coupe. The automotive blogs speculated that it was the new civic coupe but they weren't completely sure... the new civic concept was just revealed... and those previous spy shots although heavily camoed, don't quite look like the concept from NYIAS in terms of proportions etc. Now there is speculation that this may actually be an Acura coupe.
Way too little visible to equate it with anything...could be a GM for all we know. I don't think Acura would invest in making a coupe again. They don't sell as well as sedans so for the tooling involved with making a new line, they probably wouldn't think it profitable. I guess they would leave the coupes for Honda to make (the Civic and Accord coupes).

Every other luxury brand has one, so I can't buy that excuse anymore... they need to have one.
I sure hope those overhang (especially in the rear) are not legit. You can almost see the outline of the sloping roofline and what appears to be a wing spoiler?
...and do we want to guess whether it will have the 4 turbo with a manual transmission making about 280hp?

^^ BTW, I know its not unanimous but I particularly like this Civic concept, including these wheels but they will manage to give us something totally hideous by the time it hits the showroom I am almost convinced.
mapleloaf....*lol* Acura is not going to win me over with a coupe, I never owned one nor will I ever do. The closest I cam to consider one was the Cadillac ATS coupe and that was a brief period until I sat in one and said "nope". I love the openness of a sedan so Acura will need o fix their tranny issue and give me a sportier variant to win be back. We still have an ILX but that is the G/F's toy and I need one of my own.
I think it is. In the first picture you can see a little amber peeking out by the front wheel well where the side reflector is on the civic coupe
I think you're right about it being the Civic Coupe. The wheels are very similar if not identical also. For what it's worth, I really like the styling of this Civic concept. I hope the production model doesn't stray too much from this version.
If it is not Acura will soon be coming out with a coupe. Acura only has five models to Lexus's soon to be twelve and Infiniti's nine. Both also have coupes.
It's impossible to really tell what this is...why? Something that everyone over on TOV is missing:
If you look at the top of the black tarpe in the third picture where the car is coming at you, you can see it is being "blown" open allowing air to flow into the tarpe and getting caught in the back of the vehicle, causing it to "balloon" outward like a parachute on the end of a drag car and warping the rear end of the shape. The tarpe was clearly not secured taught enought to the profile of the vehicle, so any speculations are going to be wildly misguided by the fact that the tarpe is heavily warped by the flow of air intake from that opening at the top.
All you have to do is take one look at the side profile and know that is NOT the shape of a sports vehicle. The rear end is grosely misproportioned in comparison to most Honda/Acura designs. If anything it looks more to me like the hideous Honda Crosstour based on how that tarpe profile looks:
