Test drove V6 Tech and 4 Tech today!
Anyway - in either case, the TLX's quietness sounds like a big improvement over the previous TSX/TL's which is great.
I did not find the GS worth the extra cost and when I got an offer to just walk away from the lease, I did. I do not find the TLX as much a downgrade as you seem to think it is. To me, there are things that the GS does well and same for the TLX.
No offense to you but you are here saying that if we are here looking for a TLX, why not cross shop the GS. It seems to me that you don't see it as much of an upgrade either.
I got the Accord as an interim car. I have been waiting on the TLX and it was supposed to be out earlier in the year.

GS: buyer's remorse and high expectations, coupled w/ high payments, means out-the-airlock
Accord: temporary car to tie you over until the next big toy
TLX: the prospective next big toy.
So, where does your 4G TL fit in this picture?
I traded the 4G for the GS.. after a few weeks, wished I'd have kept it! *shrug*.. a fellow Aziner grabbed up my baby
^ I'm not getting the reflection problem above- that looks like a poorly adjusted mirror to me.
I checked out a TLX yesterday and this mirror reflection 'problem' is way exaggerated. I think most cars with vents near the window line will show some form of reflection- even my 3G does and I never noticed it until after the reflections came out in this forum.

Glad I'm not the only one who feels this way about the I4. After reading all of the reviews I was sure the I4 was the TLX I wanted to replace my '12 TSX. But after driving the I4 and V6 twice each it was unquestionably the V6 (I had to drive them twice because I assumed I must've been wrong to like the V6 over the lighter I4 with the great DCT the first time). Overall the car is better in a lot of ways but the I4 felt more coarse than my TSX and slightly less eager to rev or like it was working harder to get up to 70mph while merging. So knowing that to get Tech I'd be spending ~$6,000 more than my TSX cost me there was no way I could pair the increased cost with those attributes of the engine and a set of wheels I find quite unflattering on the car. The V6, in comparison, was so smooth yet powerful and still manages to handle a little better than my TSX so I could see/feel what I was getting for the increased payment. I left a deposit on a V6 P-AWS Tech.
The new TLX should have more torque than the TSX. I'm wondering how much of a difference it would make after the TLX motor breaks in? It seems like the car should outperform a TSX with more gears and slightly more HP and torque. I guess the extra weight is not helping things.
I think Honda will need to find some more ways to squeeze more HP out of the 2.4 motor. Doesn't seem like it should be that difficult- they found a way to squeeze 240 HP from the s2000 without any turbo even.

I think they're done with the K24 in terms of what they can get out of it. These last few "W" versions are what we'll have until the family of turbos they're developing is released in the next year or two.
I've driven both and I greatly prefer the V6. It is buttery smooth and VERY powerful.
While the overall refinement of the 4 cylinder TLX is a great improvement over the TSX, I felt that the TSX (my previous car) outperformed it in both acceleration and handling (despite this I prefer the 4 cylinder TLX over the TSX for its refinement and luxury feel.)
A note on the reflection in the mirror. I didn't notice it until I read about it on this forum. But I noticed similar reflections in the Fusion I drove and my wife's 300. It's certainly no worse on the TLX so I think the problem is being overstated.

took the base 4-banger for a test drive... so no tech package and with
17" wheels. the base 4 also has 'pleather' and not the perforated leather seats. the rear camera is nice.. greatly improved with 3 views and the parking sights curve/move as you rotate into a spot.
felt it was definitely smaller than my 3G ... and it felt way too much like an
accord.
blacked out grill was a nice 'dealer installed touch'
