Seat adjustment upon exit.

Seat adjustment upon exit.
In the TLX, is there a way to stop the seat from going all the way back when you exit the car?
I would like it to keep the position I have it set to at all times.

yes! You can change it in the key settings menu through the display in the gauge cluster!

^ Do you have any trouble "saving" the change? I've made that change (turned it off) and it seems to come back on. Do you have to save setting changes? I've had the car for about 6 hrs now so I'm still learning how to use it.

I bet I know what happened - I set it off during my test drive. I bet they reset to factory settings before delivery, which is why it appeared to be undone.

Just curious why you would not want it to go back? It's easier to exit and enter the car without hitting feet against doors and speakers, and it returns to the saved position when you start the car.

some people are fairly tall and the seat moves back so far that it's hard to get out of the car. I'm about 6ft and found that it moved too much and turned it off in the loaner TLX I had. My SO who is around 5'3 found it a wonderful feature!

I like the seat moving back and forth. Thank goodness we have the option of choice.

I know it hasn't been long but I absolutely love this car. It's chock full'o badassery every where you turn.

I love the options and yes there are many things to learn! I love driving this car, from the sound of the door closing, the muted but powerful sound of the engine starting, the sound system, etc. etc. etc. I've had the car 80 days and it still feels new every time I get in! The honeymoon is definitely not over

For some reason it is very uncomfortable to get out of the car when the seat is all the way back. I use the steering wheel for leverage and when I get out I feel I am putting a lot of pull force on the steering wheel. I am about 6 feet, 225 pd.
Also makes you reach farther to close the door before turning the car on.
Thanks for the tip to disable it, I will try it when I go back out in this cold!

In addition to what you guys said, if someone is getting into the back seat on the drivers side, it's more difficult with the seat all the way back. So I just like it being in the normal driving position. Just my opinion, you have options.

Agree, I disabled mine - easy to do with the settings.

For the life of me I can not find any settings for it.
The only thing I can see that is remotely close is turning off the memory link but that didn't work.
I have the base model.

Use the right cog wheel on the steering wheel and scroll to settings and find the option in one of the menu. This is one of the only option somehow you have to change this way.

I am fairly tall (6'4') and do find the car a bit difficult to exit with the seat all the way back. The B pillar is actually forward of the back part of the front seat and getting around that has always been a challenge for the TL's (3G, 4G & TLX).
If the steering wheel would also move all the way up upon exit.. *dream weaver*

having the seat move back is a big plus! Without that the driver hits the upright seat bolster each time which causes premature wear.
Even worse with some of the women's jeans with all the decorative crap on the rear pockets. This might even invalidate any warrantee.
