Question on the Jewel Eye Headlight Functionality

So, me not owning one of these things (yet - waiting for '16!), I just wanted to know a few things about the lights that I forgot to check when I was at the dealer.

1) Are the DRLs an illuminated strip across the bottom with the signal light being an illuminated strip on the top of the assembly?

2) When the low-beam headlights are on at night, is it the outside 3 "eyes" that light up?

3) Are the high-beams the inside two only, or is high-beam all 5 simultaneously?

4) Is there a way to have all 5 on simultaneously besides pressing the high-beam?

I was going to respond but remembered a great post by randomRon82 that shows the TLX lights in action far better than I can explain it.

The top left picture of course is with all lights off. The bottom left picture is with the three outer low beam headlights on. The top right are the DRL lights with headlights off. The bottom right are the three low beam and the two inner high beams.

That explains it pretty well! I guess I thought of the strip cause the ILX has a strip, but I like this better! I didn't know about the recessed LEDs for the DRLs.

As of 2016 the ILX is the same lighting as TLX for the most part.

Accords have the LED strip that u described.

Are you certain? I saw the salesman showing another couple the ILX lights right beside me and it kinda looked like this. I could be misremembering but I did see something similar to this.

The headlights for both cars are similar, but I noticed in this video that the turn signals are a light bar across and down the side and the DRLs are a light bar at the bottom. I hate to say this, but I really like the look of the amber turn signal.

Here's a short YouTube video I found:

the ilx and rdx systems are a bit different than the tlx and mdx... the ilx and rdx both use an led strip at the bottom for the drl's.... the tlx and mdx have individual leds at the top for drls that illuminate/reflect down inside of the bigger leds. The rdx and ilx have led front turn signals... the tlx and mdx don't. I prefer the tlx and mdx drl's versus the dinky led light strip at the bottom but I prefer the ilx and rdx led turn signals

on another note... the NSX had the bottom led strip for drl's at NAIAS similar to the rdx and ilx so I figured this was the way Acura was going in the future... however I just saw a recent spy shot of the NSX testing and the DRL's were the same as the TLX and MDX... so I wonder if they changed them

Me neither, before I saw that photo I though they were just reducing the output of the LEDs when used for DRL operation.

I hope so, because I also prefer the TLX/MDX DRL look. But going to the ILX's turn signals would make for a nice MMC update for the TLX/MDX.
