New to the TLX family.

Hi everyone. Longtime lurker first post. I picked up a Fathom Blue Pearl SH-AWD about 2 weeks ago. Upgraded from a 2012 TSX Tech. Love it so far. Not sure how or if I can post pictures yet or not.

You can post pictures up on a site like photobucket and then link to the pictures. That's what most of us do.

CONGRATS on your new baby!

The car looks great in all colours Enjoy your new wheels. I also had the 2012 TSX Tech and found this car to be an improvement in almost all areas…although I loved my TSX.

Yeah, I haven't seen any other blue ones on the road. They had to ship it in from Detroit. Which is funny because it was built in Marysville. I commute to the Honda R&D facility for my job about 50% of the time so there are a few I see on a regular basis. Just not in blue.

That's a sharp ride, not too many of the blue TLXs that I've seen on here. You say you commute to the R&D facility, my brother works at that facility too. Do you work for Honda or are you with a different employer?

He's the reason I got my car. Not because of the discounted price, but because he felt it was just an overall great car (We still talk, so I tend to agree).

Happy Motoring.

I work for a tier one supplier. Don't want to say too much since I like my job and you never know who is watching!

Fair enough. I live about 4 hours away and I don't get to visit often. He loves the facility and would like to show me around, but he's not sure if he can have visitors due to the nature of their business. I'd love to see it sometime, but I understand.

Yeah security is pretty tight. You have to have a prox badge to get in just about anywhere and of course my access is limited. I like it when I'm out there. The engineer design floor is massive.

I honestly don't know because he really doesn't tell me much about what goes on, but he did tell me that occasionally they will have bids on items like competitor's ATV's and motorcycles, so I'm assuming that they have other makes and models around for comparison. I do know he works on future vehicles and once they are available he may tell me some of what he did while it was being prototyped or developed. He's very reluctant to divulge any information, and I fully understand.

I'd day the employee lot is 50% Hondas (mostly accords, civics, and cr-v's). 20% Acura's and 30% everything else (ranging from jalopy kia's with ziptied on plastic wheel covers to porsches, bimmers, and merc's).

I had heard in some Windsor and Detroit plants of domestic cars, that employees who drove Japanese would get cars vandalized and keyed etc

I'm not surprised. I know people that hate on any OEM's that aren't "American" made. I just lol because there really isn't any such thing any more. Even if it's assembled in Detroit it has globally sourced parts, that just blows peoples minds.

I thought you meant did the R&D have different makes inside the facility for things like comparison or reverse engineering. I guess after I saw the replies I totally missed that one. I'm pretty sure they have all kinds of cars. My brother has had several vehicles other than Honda products and driven them all to work at one time or another.

They do this as well man. They just call it benchmarking. For example with the NSX they had an Audi R8 among some other cars for benchmarking purposes.
