For now, his task is to distinguish Acura’s offerings from bread-and-butter Hondas and its luxury competitors.
Good luck with that. The Accord Touring get's Amplitude Reactive Dampers (to smooth out the "firm" ride they have - the #1 issue with the Accord IMO) and much of the tech in the TLX for 2016 - the Honda/Acura waters are so muddied right now it's hard to imagine how the new guy is going to turn the ship in another direction very quickly.

This is great news, thanks for posting this
I feel like that Mike guy was making the brand dull
Hopefully this new guy injects new energy into the brand and propels it to at least Lexus level prestige & power

Ikeda's not a new guy... he's been with Honda/Acura since the 80's, I think. He led the design team for the 3G TL, so there's hope, I guess, but keep in mind every year or two there's an article about how Acura's going to change, focus on this, push the envelope on that, etc. and somewhere along the way many are disappointed or continue waiting on the promises. Weren't we in the midst of a 5 year overhaul or something that Acura announced about 2 or 3 years ago? Just sayin' ...
