My new TLX was just built and on the way!!

First off, I'd like to thank all the members of this site for the excellent commentary and information regarding the TLX. I used this site many times to determine if this car was right for me, and I hope to have it soon so I can find out.

Again, thanks for the great discussions and I look forward to offering mine to the collective.

I don't know why, but I get irritated when people talk about their new TLX, but don't mention the engine choice they end up with. It's just such a big component to the TLX... Or like Acura would put it, one is like a TSX and the other like a TL.

As I stated in an earlier post, it's a V6 SH-AWD Black Crystal Pearl/Ebony with some accessories. I have to admit I have a brother that works for Honda, so I was able to use his purchase option so I received hopefully the best price possible. I will have to wait for a while to confirm the price was as ordered when he placed the order.

Understandable, I was just a little stoked about receiving the word it was built and rushed to sign up and start a post. Also, I didn't want to get too wordy on my first entry

Hoosier....Congrats on your soon-to-be new TLX! Welcome to Acurazine and make sure you become a regular visitor/contributor and please don't ask whether you should be using regular or supreme - JUST KIDDING (inside joke amongst Acurazine members)

In all seriousness, you will find that members at Acurazine are very helpful, respectful and although sometime, we get a little passionate, in the end, we all have one thing in common...we all love cars and especially Acuras

Au Contraire, my friend. I have lived in extreme snowy places.. Spokane WA for 4 years was snowy but Sakhalin Island and St. Petersburg, Russia took the cake.

Congrats!

The waiting period from the Build Date to the day you get the "Come Get It" call/text from the dealer is some serious fun!

I just got the call yesterday that my car is at the dealership and they are finishing putting on all the accessories. I have arranged financing and I will rent a car today or tomorrow so I can go get it. I'm a little concerned about picking it up on Friday the 13th, so I may wait until Monday

Friday the 13th is lucky in some cultures. It's mostly the USA where it's seen as bad! I'd do pick it up on the 13th to add good luck, but that is just me!

Pick it up o the 13th and you will have the weekend to play and explore. Waiting another three days would be too much for me.

Awesome; Congrats!

When did you place your order/reserve your car? Curious as to how quickly they are catching up with the AWD models.

I had my car ordered on December 10th and it was built on January 29th. My dealer received it on February 10th and it's been prepped and all the accessories are on as of today.

It was an employee purchase so I don't know if that "speeds up" the build process or if they are finally up to full capacity. I've also heard that they build in batches, so depending on the colors, options, and powertrain selected that may vary as well.

As far as picking up the car on Fri the 13th, I think my plans will now allow me to get the car Saturday, so I'm hoping the weather cooperates (it's snowing now ).

I picked my car up today and got to enjoy the drive for 7 miles before I dropped it off at the detailer's shop for the Opti-coating. For what it's worth, I was very concerned about the "transmission issues" but I felt nothing strange at all. I hope that the process was ironed out but like I said, I only put a few miles on it. I did enjoy the Blind spot monitoring and the LKAS features because I was on a 4 lane highway the entire way and got to experiment with them quite a bit.

^^ Congrats and I must admit that I have very few things holding me back on pulling the trigger on one of these puppies (in white of course)....Love the lines, the body kit and overall features and styling. The tranny issues does (to an extent) worry me even though it appears software more than hardware....and the throttle response. Otherwise, I love this TLX and yours is gorgeous!

FYI, I see you are using the acronym BCP, when your TLX is in fact CBP (Crystal Black Pearl). BCP is Black Copper Pearl. Super confusing I know but just wanted to let you know to clear that potential confusion up in the future

Congrats Man ! I just picked mine last night as well ! Amazing car yes but I think I'm feeling some symptoms of the transmission..... Let me do a little more research before I jump to conclusions. It has to go back to the dealer for the accessories on Monday as well.

I didn't realize it at the time, but I did swap the letters BCP instead of CBP, but in all fairness, I had just been reading up on the owner's manual and I was suffering from acronym overload (ACC w/ LSF, BSI, LKAS, CMBS, RDM, LDW, VSA, FCW, IDS, ODMD, ...... not to mention the TLX SH-AWD) Did I forget any?

OK, I just messed up, but there are a lot of acronyms to remember aren't there?

Thanks. At first I fell in love with the prototype and I was a little disappointed they didn't offer that color of red, the wheels, and the lower body spoilers, but in time I started to really love the looks of the car and I'll agree with most who say that until you see it in person, you don't fully appreciate the styling.

The issues with the tranny and shifting I still can't comment yet on because of the short first drive, but I didn't seem to notice any sluggishness in the shifting or throttle response and I was only in the normal mode. I didn't even try the sport or sport + yet. I'll have about 70 miles on the trip home to play with all of the other features.

Hey, you aren't the first one to do that. I did the same thing you did when I got mine! CPB/BCP... it's too easy to mix up the acronym
