Nice article on Driving.ca - and of course our TLX is on the list!

Funny, as I compared 3 of the cars on the list with my TLX! Looked at an A3 and a GTI. I've always wanted an IS, but its out of the budget for how I want it optioned.

I looked at the A4 and it looked dated and the 4 cylinder engine just was not refined enough for me - it sounded exactly like... a 4 cylinder engine! Hmm...

Then I looked at the IS - it was very nice, but the interior was a bit too cramped for me, and the styling was a bit too much and it would look dated rather soon.

So I went with the TLX.... and I am very happy with this choice! :-)

Your search path sounds a lot like mine. When I saw the long delivery date for my car and it kept getting delayed, I looked again and none had that "gotta have it" feel that the TLX does, to me.

Of course, I am still in the honeymoon phase with the car

I looked at the IS, and find the exterior looks growing on me, but I have ruled it out because the gas mileage is much lower than that expected with the TLX.

Really irks me that BMW 3 series really are racking up the great mileages on Fuelly. There is talk that the turbo engines yield great mileage as long as you stay out of Turbo function. Fair enough, but for some of us that is easier said than done. PLUS, I am still not willing to risk greater maintenance with the Turbo engines, though I am noting the ever increasing reliability marks for BMW.

Personally, I still find the IS attractive because of the current bullet-proof reliability of the vehicle, but I dare hope the TLX will match that after initial growing pains.

Don't be irked its a good sign; performance & reasonable fuel economy. You can expect Honda/Acura to go turbo or some form of Hybrid in the near future.

They did not get much of a splash from the RLX but the NSX should perk up interest in the Hybrid package. Hybrid V6 & Turbo I4.

Most of my mileage (22MPG) is inside Raleigh ferrying the granddaughter around & doing honey-do's. Typically in Sport+ or Sport+ manual. Over the road in comfort mode 31MPG@ 78/83MPH.

Not as good as the Acura but not bad. My modified 335is (410WHP) was about 2 MPG off the 435MPPK BMW rated at 343BHP
