Lexus IS turbo
I was watching college football yesterday and saw a commercial for this car. It only had 0-60 of 6.7 seconds.
I think my 4 cylinder tlx is good enough. According to one of those 0-60 sites my car gets 0-6.8 seconds.
I choose tlx since it has all wheel steering.
I wonder what mode they tested it in. I drive in sport all the time.
Has anyone tested their tlx 0-60?

Many of the 0 - 60 numbers are all over the place....very wide range depending on what sites you go to. One site that I use to compare stats is
2015-2016 Acura TLX 0-60 times acceleration, 1/4 mile, 0 to 100 kmh
I make no promise about where they get their data or how accurate, but it is nice to be able to find all of the info on one site.
For me it isn't so much the 0 - 60 time, but how it feels getting there. I think my 07 TL is listed as 7.1 s and that is plenty quick enough for me. TLX i4 is listed as 7.2s.
The Lexus IS 200t should be interesting since it replaces the engine that by most accounts was way under powered. Waiting to see when the Honda turbo makes it way to the TLX.

Better number to look at, if you can find it, is the 5-60 time. C&D is one that uses it in the tests.
Takes the drivers launch skill out of play & is more representative of what an average DD will get without abusing the crap out of the car.
The 0-60 gold standard was invented by Thomas Jay McCahill III back in the late 1940's when 60mph was really fast.

yeah....good point...I watched a video once of I guy doing multiple 0 - 60 runs with the same car. He got very different numbers depending upon his shift points (manual or paddle shifters). His best time was when he held the lower gear longest (ie...didn't shift at 55 mph).
As I said, I rarely race anyone from a stop, so I am more concerned about how the car feels/responds when I step on gas for merging/passing/etc vs straight off the line 0 - 60 numbers. Seems like most i4 TLX owners are happy with the acceleration for everyday driving.

Yeah it's just fine for me also
I do well between 20-60 when I have to pass traffic on freeway
I think an eight speed dct is way better than the cvt I had in my previous hybrid cars

reading from clublexus, the same 2.0 turbo in current NX200t has serious turbo lag, therefore the performance numbers are shockingly only a nudge better than the old 250 despite huge increase in hp and torque. as of right now, i'd take TLX I4/8DCT over IS200t

I drove a Saab 9-5 Aero before my TSX, and for the city and back roads I'll take the TSX's high-revving NA goodness, but turbo torque simply rules on the highway. As a result, I'm very curious about the IS200t, but unless it gets MT I probably won't consider it.

Interesting. I'm not surprised there might be some lag off the line, but I wonder whether lag affects highway passing maneuvers, which is where the turbo torque should, in theory, perform much better than the TLX I4 despite the TLX's DCT. Modern turbos generally don't have much lag, and they mate very well with good auto trannies, but maybe Lexus dropped the ball on this one.

At a complete stop the turbo is barely spinning, at highway speeds it'll be already in boost and spinning fairly fast so the lag won't be THAT noticeable on the highway. By the time the car downshifts and get everything to spool, it'll be about a second or two. There's no replacement for displacement.

The 328i F30 that I had also had some lag when spooling from a start, but on the highway it was very nice and had no real lag. In sport mode the lag was not present on the highway and streets. ECO mode was terrible for lag, but I got 38MPG on the Highway doing 74MPH. Same as the V6 TLX on the highway doing 78MPH.
