Back to the subject at hand- for all of you saying the Accord is a better I would challenge you to look closely at the fit and finish, build quality etc. Not saying the Accord is a bad car but you get what you pay for and the Acura is a step up for sure.

That, and I'd even do a comparo between the 2.4 TLX and the EX-L V6 since they're similarly priced.
If, however, you meant the 2.4 TLX with tech, then the closest priced Accord would be the Touring.
Personally, I'd take a EX-L V6 over a base 2.4 TLX for the same money.
2.4 TLX w/Tech vs Accord Touring?? I don't know. I might enjoy the few extra bells and whistles that the 2.4 TLX w/tech offers.

EX-L V6 w/navi starts at $32,270
Touring starts at $33,630 -- pretty much same car as EX-L V6 w/navi but adds LED headlights and adaptive cruise control... don't think those 2 things are worth an extra $1.4K which is why I'd take an EX-L V6 w/navi over a Touring.
(base) 2.4 TLX starts at $30,995
2.4 TLX w/tech starts at $35,025

Look at the Accord tail lights where the clear and red blend together at the top. The panels between the rear seat bottom and door and the top edge of the front doors (windows down) where the panels meet. A more obvious example would be the cheap looking shiney black plastic around the shifter and touch that appears to have silver overspray on it. Then go look over the TLX and note the perfect panel gaps etc. The sunglasses holder is the only cheaper feeling part in the entire car!

I guess you missed the part where he posted a fully decked out J35 Accord cost less than the 4-banger TLX.

I haven't driven the TLX but had sat in one at a dealer. I test drove an Accord Touring V6 before. The TLX is no 2015 C Class, but it's noticeably more upscale than the Accord Touring inside.
I'm waiting for the driving experience event of the TLX to come here though. I'd like to see how the 8-DCT compared to the CVT in the Accord sport (i sat in one while my friend was test driving). I'd like to see if the NVH is better in the TLX.

Thanks for the entertainment peeps, this thread seems to have turned into a forum version of Jerry Springer
Interesting show for an episode or two, then just plain silly.
Please remember that some of are trying to get the "real" story on vehicles, so we can make a purchase. We all have bias's and I'm finding it difficult enough to sort through them and glean INFORMATION, without all the drama.
Boy has the Internet changed how we interact!
If everyone in this thread met in a parking lot with all the Vehicles being talked about, would we be throwing punches or would we be chatting each other up about the ins and outs of the vehicles?
I'm hoping it would be like any car show most of us have gone to and passionately discuss our views with respect?
Just my two cents in a thread that's already off the rails

Too many responses to quote, but let me qualify my comment about "the right tool for the job". I did not mean the term tool as an unemotional object, and i thought I explained that in my example. I am very passionate about cars and have owned some seriously neat cars. I am willing on spending stupid money for emotional aspects of a car. I just meant that what type of car I buy and what features and aspects of a car that are important depends a lot on what type of driving I will use it for.
Prior to my current 550 BMW, I had a Lexus for commuting and a Z06 as a weekend car. That is my point about the right tool for the job.

You really think DCT is gimmicky?
Given DCT, CVT, and a regular AT, what would be your preference?

I want to find out about that too. I think the base TLX is about $2.5k more than an Accord EX-L ($31k vs $28.5k).

1) Accord is bigger inside - not a lot bigger though
2) Accord has better visibility in the rear
1) TLX rides MUCH better - the Accord is on the firm side for sure - the TLX has a much more refined ride
2) TLX is more quiet - the 13 Accord was the quietest Accord I've owned (had 5) but the TLX is a class above with regards to wind/road/engine noise. It may not rival a Lexus yet but it's nice and quiet. The Accord is no challenge to the TLX WRT to NVH
3) TLX handles nicer - less body roll and understeer.
4) The LED headlights in the TLX are worlds better than the standard lighting as you would imagine
5) Acceleration - the TLX feels about the same as the Accord when you get on the gas however the DCT vs CVT driving experience while doing so gives the edge to the TLX. The TLX may be a hair quicker.
6) Interior refinement - The TLX wins this - It's Accord-like inside but it feels like an upscale Accord to me.
So - IMO the two cars aren't really close at all when you compare them. Is the TLX a better "value" than the Accord - that's up to each individual.

I could have made this thread much worse. I have a Master's Degree in Trollogy from Acurazine.
But I didn't because I wanted to write my own review of TLX 2.4L completely unbiased.
Some people just don't like others opinion when it's not matching to their opinions.
That's fine with me.
Don't get me wrong though. Members like jjsC5 brings some valid points on their argument which make sense. Kudos to them.
