How to turn on parking sensors

Picked up my V6 Elite (Advanced) TLX Dec 23. Learning to use a couple of features each day. Am discovering an unbelievable amount of exciting technology on this car.

Front parking sensors on my Elite (Advanced in USA) don't seem to work. Not sure if I need to turn them on and if I should be hearing a beep or seeing something light-up.

Yes, I WILL start to read my manual/CD disc this next week...

Do most just leave their headlights on auto? Should I have a concern that the headlights will burn out sooner if left on auto?

There is a button on the left side of steering wheel, next to the open trunk button to turn on Parking Sensors.

I leave my headlights on Auto.. LEDs should last for many years

Default is Auto. It will reverts to Auto when driving or opening the door. In other words, you can't drive with your lights off. At least I haven't found a way.

When in park you can turn off the headlights while the door is closed, but as you will notice the switch bounces back to auto. When the door is open and/or the car is put into gear the light comes back on.
