ECU reset

In the 3rd gen TL's you can do the gas pedal to "reset" the car's learning of your driving style. https://acurazine.com/forums/third-g...-happy-747662/

Is there something similar to the gas pedal reset procedure in the TLX?

I have tried it multiply times. Sometimes It seemed to work and other times...meh. I think it was in my head. I find unhooking that battery cable seems to work just fine. Because throttle tip in and overall impression is much more responsive and fun. For some reason the progressive "learn" of this vehicle dumbs everything down even sport plus.

I didn't drive the car for over a week while I was out of the country and that seems to have done something like reset it, it seems very smooth now.

I just did the reset thing on my 03 Accord V6 and the ride is way smoother on the gas pedal.

I wonder if it does the same when you change IDS mode on TLX. I tried the reset thing on TLX didnt notice any major changes. My guess is changing the IDS will do reset the ECU

The TLX has something different called an Idle Relearn Procedure.

I believe it goes something like turning off all electrical accessories, and stay in P with the parking brake applied, and hold at 3000 RPM until the rad fan comes on. Release the throttle and idle for 10 minutes. Turn off the car.

That's how I think it goes, correct me if I'm wrong though.
