No CEL and ECU doesn't run all tests.

On February 9 it was very hot in LA and car was running for about 15 min with AC on on a parking lot at noon.
After work I get CEL on a start for APP sensor (cannot remember code number) and car wouldn't even get to 5mph.
Restart engine and it runs fine. Got home cleared CEL with a tester thinking if there is a problem I will get another CEL.
After 3 weeks and 2 tanks of gas ECU still shows as its been resent and didn't run all tests.

My commute is 20 miles one way on a freeway with 15 out of 20 I drive with 75-80 MPH.

My renewal is coming up and in California car will not pass smog check if ECU is in reset mode. Guys at smog check station tell me just keep driving.

Anyone heard something like it before? Should I replace APP sensor? It is $130 and not sure it will help.

Thanks.

Common issue: sounds like limp mode..

Just replace it, or at least buy it and wait for when (not if) it eventually fails.

Spend $10 on a BT obd dongle and Torque or app of your choice. Gives you emissions readiness states.

After clearing code almost a month ago and driving two full tanks of gas ECU doesn't throw new codes or any codes and at the same time it doesn't run all tests that ECU suppose to run. If I plug in dongle or scanner it shows that ECU has been recently reset.

So you are getting emissions readiness status of Incomplete due to PCM resets? How is your battery?

Under Catalyst it says incomplete.
Battery is less than year old.
I'll give it another week or two before I begin replacing parts.

Thanks for your help

Apparently my commute and driving style were the problem.
There is another thread here on Azine explains different driving condition that had to be met in order for ECU to run all test. Last thing I had to do is get on freeway set cruise control to 55MPH while having my live scanner plugged in. It took about 10-12 minutes and I got a confirmation beep that all test have run and passed.
