Now all I have to do is wait for the commission checks to start rolling in

I'm happy that I was able to provide a thread that a few people have found useful and find the modification as cool as I do. What I really like is that everyone can have ANY projection they choose if they are willing to spend a little extra coin. It's got to be the easiest mod I've ever made and it almost always gets a "Wow, that's cool" reaction from people the first time they see it.

Darn. I guess I waited too long to decide.

Ugh... USPS claimed mine was delivered this morning... but no package. Checked with all the neighbors but they didn't get anything. Tried calling them, but they gave me the runaround. Sent an email to Wind & Fire, so I'm hoping they can help me put some pressure on USPS and figure out what the hell happened.

I was so excited too...

That so sucks!!!! USPS is getting to the point of me almost asking for carrier pigeon any more. I had ordered some LED backup light bulb replacements and they were supposed to get here last Saturday, and after 2 calls to USPS (who had NO IDEA where it was) I finally got a call on Thursday and it was delivered on Friday. Wow, that got long-winded!

What I was driving at was I really hope it was an oversight by your carrier and you get it Monday or so. Good Luck!!!

USPS came and went again today, but still nothing.

If Wind & Fire is located in Vernon as their website says, I should have just asked to pick it up instead. I have to go to Vernon 2-3 times a week anyway.

Hopefully it shows up Monday, or Wind & Fire is able to help me find the package. I haven't had any problems with USPS for over 5 years and now this...

And mine finally arrived! According to the note on the front of it, it was delivered to 3442 rather than 4442... Silly USPS driver :p

Does anybody buy these from Amazon? Or is it preferred to go straight to the original vendor?

It's a Chinese commercial eBay-like retail site. Various Chinese companies post their goods for export sale. Service has been very hit or miss for me and my friends. I don't bother with them anymore.

I originally saw them on Amazon and I'm a Prime member and use Amazon almost daily (I know....). The reason I went to the manufacturer was because they offer lifetime replacement light chips and also they included a free set of chips available on their site. The price was identical and I didn't need them in 2 days since I ordered them before I had my car.

I wouldn't hesitate purchasing them from Amazon, but you don't necessarily get the deal you'd get from Wind % Fire.

Don't know about the type, quality, price, or have any information about those. I won't recommend them because I didn't get mine there. If anyone else has a similar style please provide some information so members have other options if they want.

Relatively simple process. Small screwdriver (you may want to cover the prying end with a paper towel or piece of cloth), and pry on the end that is closest to the front of the car. It should pop out enough for you to remove it.

I was wondering if the rear doors have the puddle lamps, too, like the front. I would probably do all four doors if the rear doors had the same lights.

Rears have no lights, that was the first thing I checked when I saw these

^^^^^ Cool man. I love the ability to change the light chip to whatever we want. I'm still waiting, but I think I'm going to go with a standard TLX logo, but I want something else as well, so I'm doing a little research for now. Glad to see the custom chips look so good.

I just bought a set, very cool, I have the American flag since it came in the thing...which brings me to my question

How do you change the chip? I tried to look on their site and could only find info on other modules. Plugging it into my car took 1 min and was super easy but I cant figure out the chip! I guess ill just keep the American flag which i LOVE

If you look to the side you can take a flat head or something hard enough and you can pry out the little tab

There should have been a small tool that came in the box with your lights. It has a screwdriver-like end on it that can be used to remove the chips. It's very easy to remove.

See post #22 on this thread and the tool is shown there in the photo of the kit.

Are you supposed to "open it up" somehow? I mean Im really enjoying the American Flags but dont want to break it. Do you take off the clear plastic thing somehow? Still lost...

Just put a pair in. Took longer to remove from packaging than that actual install.

Great thread. I'm expecting to take delivery of my car on Tuesday and have already ordered these. They should arrive Monday. If they do I may install them while I'm at the dealership.

I added them to my RLX.. was a pain in the arse! The connecting wire was just long enough to reach the unit. I thought I was going to need to remove the door panel which I was not really wanting to do.

I ordered this pair from Amazon. Came with American flag sense installed and a set of Acura lenses in the box. Didn't need to rotate barrels as in instructions since both were set opposite - one for left side and one for right side - already. Removed exactly as others have stated by inserting provided tool on part of factory light closest to door forward hinge. Provided tool is also handy to change out lenses using thin point and loop on Acura Slide. Once new slides inserted into light, each light took about 30 seconds to pop-out, unplug and insert replacement light. Fun upgrade. The Acura in the bottom of photo is the lighted door sills. Compliments them well.

Thanks for the info on this. Just put in an order for one pair. I will add custom chip after seeing how they look in real life.
