Day time running light not working

I owned my tlx for 1 year. Now, the DRL is no longer working. Low beam is still working perfectly in auto mode. Should I take it back to dealership?

This is how it looks like with engine on and parking brake off .

Yeah, I'd take it in. DRL should be on unless the headlights are turned on manually or via auto setting.

Maybe the parking brake doesn't disengage even it's electrical ? The relay ?

I don't see why you wouldn't take it back. Hopefully whatever's wrong is covered by the standard warranty.

I am worrying whether the standard waranty will cover it or not and also the inspection fee charged by the dealership.

^I was told that the LEDs are not covered in the warranty. Either way, keep us posted on what the dealership has to say. I am curious to know as I was thinking about the longevity of these Jewel - Eye headlights.

I don't see why this wouldn't be covered.

^I just got my 2016 TLX two Fridays ago and I was told LEDs are not covered in warranty. Hopefully my salesman is wrong.

I might have missed it but I don't see LED's being excluded: Owner's Manual & Warranty | 2015 Acura TLX | Acura Owners Site

^Hmm. I am here in Canada if that makes any difference. I will double check my warranty booklet. Anyways, sorry for cluttering this thread, OP. Ggesq, feel free to clean up this thread! Sorry!

It's all good. Your findings might become relevant to Canadian owners for future reference.

Hope they'll fix it. With the prices of these vehicles they really should be working properly for much longer

Acuras (at least in the states) come with a 4 yr 50,000 miles Bumper to Bumper warranty and 6 yr 70,000 powertrain warranty

The headlights are between the 2 bumpers (hence BUMPER TO BUMPER). There is no way that should be excluded from the warranty that is ridiculous.

He might have meant light bulbs that are normally a maintenance item, not the headlights.

Besides, the OP's problem is something besides the LEDs in the headlights. There is something else going on, a harness problem, switch, relay, etc. Of ocurse in this car it might be the transmission causing it.

I thought of this thread last night while I was buying my TLX. The salesman said the LEDs in the headlights are covered under the standard and extended warranty.

I just visited the dealership. They deny my DRL is not working. Its rainning and dark outside , so only the low bean is activated. So I showed them a picture from previous thread on this forum. At the end of the day, they had no clue how to get the the top right one....

So, what can I do now...

Have the dealer show you several TLX cars on their lot that behave the same way as yours. If it is raining and dark outside, change the setting from AUTO to OFF, which will force the DRL to come on regardless of how dark it is outside. Could be a blown fuse. DRLs are fuse numbers 2, 29, 39 in the fuse box in the driver's side footwell. This is not something you should have to deal with it. Take it back to the dealer.

Update:

The dealership admitted there is a problem with my DRL and their technicians cannot figure out which part goes wrong. So, Acura suggests them to replace the entire computer system of my tlx. The part will arrive on Wednesday from CA.
Fortunately, the standard warranty covers everthing
