Buying TLX, please help me decide which one to get....

On my test drives with the 2015 one of the first things I noticed was a very long delay in the TLX finding a proper gear and responding to my need to accelerate....to the point that I felt that it was dangerous for my commute.
Again, thanks for the feedback. I am encouraged and will have to try a 2016 for a test drive. Very interested in what Acura may do with the MMR in 2017.

If people are driving that crazy on the highway and constantly passing is important, I'd just drive in Sport+ (locks out gears 8 and 9) but you'll get worse fuel economy. Your other option is to downshift 2-3 gears using the paddles before leaving the lane. If 9->4 shifts are going to be a common thing for you, I really think maybe it's not the best transmission for you. I just usually gear down 3 to pass unless I'm going to pass into opposing traffic on 2-lane highway (then I do it in Sport+). In fact I drive in Sport+ a lot on the highway and in mixed driving using the paddles to control my shifts.

I've observed most of the lag at like 5-2 when you are going like 30 and want to punch it to accelerate up to 60. Which is not often. Dropping from 9 - 5 or 6 is quick. Of course I have 20K+ miles plus all the TSBs.

Not sure if it has been confirmed by Acura, but several publications including autonews have listed 2017 as TLX "re-engineering". No one really wants to confirm too many details until they have to.

2015 Advance
I'm looking at a 2015 or 2016 FWD Advance. Dealer says there's no difference between the two, basically just software updates.
Is there a difference between the two? I'm more concerned about reliability and the potential to fix things in the 2016 model year that were found in the 2015 model year.
ETA: Found one thread which pretty much confirms that.

From a dealer's perspective, if the features are the same, the power is the same, and the car looks the same, 'nothing' has changed.
The rest of us know that the 2016 has a transmission that, while similar, is modified in the design in some way from the 2015. It is physically different in some way that none of us know exactly, but if it was software, it would have been fixed on the 2015s.
Also the 2016's don't seem to have any vibration issues. Just normal very gentle VCM for the V6. Some 2015 owners have reported horrible vibrations (I would guess due to motor mounts, half-shafts, bad tires/wheels/brakes or a combination of those things). I've yet to see a 2016 owner report those issues (including myself, I have a 2016).

2015 Advance
Can't believe I failed that one :/
That was for a 2015 TLX FWD Advance
I used the "no haggle internet price" at another dealer on a 2016 TLX FWD Advance and the price back was like $32k. I told them that was too good to be true. "Oh! You meant the Advance! That was the base". Grrr.

First, read this article. I wish I would have found it before I bought my car: https://www.carbuyingtips.com/car4.htm
In regards to that, a Google search tells you that holdbacks are 2% of MSRP. When I bought my 15 TLX in December, the Factory to Dealer incentive was $3k on a TLX. It may be more now. Ask them, and they should tell you how much it is.
Dealers are dying to get the 15's off their lot. I know one dealer manager that starts charging his salespeople "rent" on any cars that are sitting on the lot for more than a certain amount of months.
Lastly, if you can find a 2015 with a build date or 07/15 or 08/15, then go with that one. The 2016 models started being built in 09/15, so you're essentially getting a 2016 model if you can find one with a really late build date.
