Anyone ever receive a unit from Navtool?

Their dog ate the instructions. But they are checking with 'the instructions department' to get a copy. Then they will send them to the 'packing department' to pack them, and then the 'shipping department' will ship them. So should be about 6 months or so. Seriously, contact the 'support department' and they should e-mail them to you. You might want to check out the Corvette C7 forum where there is a long thread on installing it in that car. Don't know if that will be of any help, but there was software that needed to be updated before it worked.
Well I'm pretty surprised to see something show up. Hopefully it works. It does look like the one posted earlier in an ILX. That one might have been a test unit since the opening in the end cap was cut wrong. But they look the same.

Tracking number stuck on "created" since Thursday. Hmmm..... We'll see Monday. It's too bad. I was hoping to do some install action this weekend and at the same time finally get my Legend lighted door sills installed.

A new ilx owner posted that as one of the mods they have done. Nit aure if ita actually working but he flat out asked people to not comment about it since he knows the drama between azine and navtool. Hahahaha

These fuckers have lied to me for 7 months and thesee past 2 weeks have told me 4 times its "shipping today". No tracking number ever sent, nothing at all ever sent to me.
And to the person who got one in the mail, the reason you don't have any wiring instructions is 100% because this isn't even made for our cars. You probably got sent the corvette version just so they could shut some of us up for complaining about not receiving a product that we paid for 7 fucking months ago.
Biggest disgrace of a company ever and now I'm out 300 bucks. I hope these scumbags get thrown into a woodchipper.

I don't mean to sound like a tinfoil hat connoisseur, but I happened to notice that a lot of the recent positive sounding updates were coming from "new members" with sub-10 post counts.
I'm not saying anything directly... but I'll be interested to see an established member like neurobob actually report on getting one.

gss009, check your PM.
Mine is en route, after two weeks in limbo, and interestingly enough, after no further phone contact on my part. UPS says I should have it tomorrow.
That means I have to choose between two 4th of July weekend projects:
a) Install Navtool in RLX
b) Install LED tails on NSX---->probably this one first

I received my Navtool via UPS, along with an installation manual, today. I took a pic but am too lazy to add it right now. Suffice to say, it was not a box of rocks.
What replaced the RLX? Gone so soon.....
Pretty much my thinking, too. I'm geeked about sweet LED tails to modernize my NSX.

Nothing happened to it. Something happened to me. I blew out my left knee. It's not healing right so getting in and out of the car was very, very painful. I am in a Lincoln MKX now. I would have went with an RDX but Acura has to re-earn my trust.. over time
Too soon indeed! Nice car

Sorry to hear about your knee Stew. If you've seen someone and have any questions, send me a PM.
Never thought you'd see one in the flesh Bob. Now to see if it will actually hook into your car....
I still vote for LED tails first, followed by numerous pics!!

It seems I will have one of these units arriving at my house soon. I asked them to cancel the order and refund me but I was ignored. I may have to post it on the black market for sale once it arrives.

Just sad that they can't manage the manpower to get the remaining 5 units out to those who paid what seems like forever ago now. To those who have gotten their units, I still would like to see the thing being used, and I hope everything works correctly for the lifetime of your car, because god only knows what you'd go through if it doesn't.
Sorry to hear about your health issues Stew, and it sucks that you didn't get a refund and may end up with this P.O.S. and a bitch of a time returning or trying to sell it.
Best of luck to everyone who stuck this FusterCluck out!

I tried installing it today. I think I received the wrong harness as it's certainly not plug and play. Luckily, the RLX dash is not difficult to take apart and wow, the quality and soft padding of the pieces. The RLX is a nice piece of work. Seriously. In any case, I'll be calling for tech support on Tuesday to see if I can get the correct wiring, or at least a little assist in tapping/splicing. I'm not upset, I just want to get it working properly as the potential is definitely there.

D&D and/or gamers (and the ilk) are probably diametrically opposed to how I would self identify. And while I have a passing knowledge of Lovecraft, I can't quite say I'm a fan (although I'm not well read enough to say I'm not either). More accurately, I look at the current political situations and think that perhaps the chaotic death associated with the awakening of Cthulhu wouldn't be the worst thing that could happen.
It's that or pray for a giant meteor to slam into the Earth before November. But as a fledgling anarchic nihilist, I think the gruesome insanity penned by Lovecraft sounds quite entertaining... So, "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn", it is then!

Saaaayy... that sounds exactly what you stalwart few have been going through with navtool.

Navtool says it is Plug-n-Play. They don't include instructions on their website. Be interesting to hear what the real story is.

- did the molded connectors fit the OEM harnesses?
- Was there the need to cut or otherwise modify ANY of the original OEM wiring?
- How does the unit function once installed? Is HDMI mirroring selected via the OEM button(s) as promised?
- How is the quality of the mirrored image? Audio?
- The Corvette forum users were asked to submit their request for number and position of activated camera inputs before shipment, so that the units could be shipped in the correct configuration. I've seen no discussion of the same in the Acura forum. How is this configured for the TLX version of the unit?
- Other observations?

I tried installing it myself and wasn't successful. However, it's not because of the device itself, it's because I couldn't get the wires properly connected and honestly don't have the experience to know how to do it well.
Taking apart my RLX's dash and navi was remarkably easy other than that the cables connecting the nav unit are all really short, and I have large hands. The problem is that the system is not "plug and play" as advertised. The black plug with loose wires in the pictures above has to be connected to the plugs as per the instructions. However, my attempt to do so failed. I am wondering whether the plugs in the RLX are a little different from other Acuras, including the MDX, for which this device was originally created. If I had a picture of how to connect these wires to the appropriate harness, I'd have probably done a little better. Again, more than likely, it's intaller error.
In any case, I'm now considering selling it. I simply don' t have the time to find a local shop to install it for me because of my insane work schedule, and I don't know when I can get it installed.
