The GM's at the dealership certainly knows more than any of us and they don't expect it. The Acura dealers want it to happen as well as they hear it from the customers. That feedback makes it way to corporate. I suspect that a 2020 TLX will be on the lots in early fall of this year and it will be unchanged. They put the 2019 models out way early and I think it was just to get the A-Spec out there for the variants that didn't offer it (non-V6). Hope I am wrong but I think there is way too much hope for something this year.

If Acura follows their cycle there will be a new TLX shown either in February or April and go on sale early summer. The question will be whether there is a Type-S shown at same time. I suspect at least a Type-S prototype that may or may not go on sale this year or next year. The Sport sedan segment is heating up, G70 is a game changer and if Acura wants to not fade into the sunset they need a new TLX this year and a Type-S sooner than later.

I would think Honda will hold to its practice of keeping all the info in corporate till the revel date location is chosen. Then the dealers will get there regional meetings on the new product.
Same thing is taking place on the StingRay mid engine cars. Mules are being seen in camo all over the place but no one out side corporate knows squat. Couple guys got canned for leaking a crappy interior shoot that may or may not be accurate. Lots of rumors but no hard data.

People put waaaay too much stock in what their Acura dealers say. They want you to buy a car now. Don't trust them.

Like I've said before, I trust my Honda dealer. I pretty much only deal with service and they know I'm too poor to buy anything new anyways.

I just hope they get rid of the ZF transmission. 300hp w/ SH-AWD without the ZF and I'd consider it.

That was my thought as well. (Re: ZF agreement). Hopefully, this tranny won’t make an appearance in future Acura TLX/MDX models.

The same GM told me that at the corporate meeting they where told that every Acura model would have a Type S variant and that was way out in front of any Acura press release from Corporate or any 3rd party article. I do believe they find out info when they attend the corporate meetings. To think they go to these meetings and get told zero about new models or changes coming in the near future seems very unlikely.

I don't know if we will see a 2G TLX for 2020, but we certainly should. While I think the 2.4/DCT model is decent, it's considerably outgunned by the Accord 2.0T variants, which have Sensing and cost less. IMO, that's a bad situation for the "premium" brand, and I'm sure Acura knows it. So, I wouldn't be surprised if we do indeed see a 2G TLX for the 2020 model year. (Then again, we still have the 1G ILX, which is just pathetic.)
I know the auto show folks probably don't know anything, but I'll ask them at the Philly auto show anyway.

So, there's a MDX Type-S mule as well now. Acura is going to be an interesting brand these next few years (hopefully).

Check out the front brakes on this test mule as they look to be 6 piston units. Also the track has been widened on this all new platform as you can tell by the wheel arch additions. This car will be new from the ground up and share only the 2.0t/10AT with the Accord.

Actually no, the 2020 TLX will use an all new Acura sedan platform which has DWB’s on the front. Its not relate to their modular SUV platform or any Honda.

I already went through two wheels on my current TLX A-Spec and can't imagine how many wheels I would have to replace with such a low profile tire with barely over an inch of side wall. the 2020 will be shown in NY with the car going on sale later this year. I don’t think the Type-S will be available right at launch but both trims will be shown at NY.

That doesn't look just like any mule. It literally looks just like they put stickers on a current gen TLX and cut out the exhausts. How come I can't put it past Acura to release a 2020 model Type S based on the current generation TLX, like they did with the last couple of years 2007-2008 TL's. The 2019 model year will be the 5th model year. They went 6 years with the last TL generation. I hope I'm wrong, but time will tell. There's less than 3 months until NY auto show. . . Again, “meh” until I see real sheet metal. Hoping it’s true. Right now, even Hyundai/Genesis is far ahead of Acura in enthusiast car development. For me, 13 months until lease pull-ahead time. Hopefully, There will be a TLX-S by then to keep me interested.
