Acura Owners Site

If you haven't already, you should probably register your car/sign-up at Acura Owners Site | Exclusive Knowledge, Service, & Benefits. I did this for my 3G and recently did it for my 5G.

I noticed an updated owners manual on there (as of 8/29/2014).

Also, for those that want them, and if it hasn't been posted already, I noticed a link where you can apparently get printed copies of the owner's and navigation manuals. From the site :

A printed Owner's Manual, Navigation Manual, and Warranty Booklet are complimentary to the first registered owner, up to six months after vehicle purchase.

They say delivery time is approximately 5 weeks.

Don't blame me if it doesn't work.

Thanks for the heads up! I don't have my VIN number yet, but I'll register as soon as I can.

If they're giving the manuals away for free, why don't they just have the dealers give them to us?

The manuals come on the provided CD, and I already have the download PDF version and have not decided if I will order or need the manuals. You could store them on your smartphone.

Likely only 1% of owners will request the manuals. It's a cost reduction activity.

Like Quandry said, it's probably a cost-cutting measure. I think the confirmation page or somewhere on the site it said that they had to be printed or something after you order them. Which is probably why it takes 5 weeks for delivery.

I have them on my phone and tablet, but there are times I'd just rather have a book to look at. That's right - I'm old school!

I was on phone today with a corporate tech rep about TLX phone display programming glitch issue (which I will post in next few days). We changed the subject to a question I had in settings and he instructed me to look at page ### of the printed master manual. Yep, the one that doesn't come with the car but has to be ordered. Info is not in the condensed printed manual.

I ordered mine 2 weeks ago but they come direct from Helm and take 4-5 weeks for delivery but also feel they should still come in the car or be available at dealer. Saves Acura money but inconveniences the customer. I think many more customers will order the manuals than Acura anticipates. But the order info is buried in fine print near first page....the page that many people never read. There are approximately 900 pages of PDF files on the CD with enough extra instructions, warnings, do's and don'ts to warrant a printed copy for use in car.

I have to give Acura Corporate a compliment, finally they are beginning to listen to their customers again and with my experiences so far are trying to tackle issues with the TLX asap. The corporate tech rep I spoke with over the last two days was extremely courteous, knowledgeable, genuinely interested in solving the problem and admitted there is an issue displaying some phonebook listings that can be corrected with a software patch. They duplicated the issue on their test cars before calling me back with fix information.
