2021 TLX Package Discussion

The current TLX in Canada offers a SH-AWD A-Spec Elite variant, but the current RDX does not offer an option like this, instead its just a separate A-Spec trim. This makes you miss out on features like the HUD, Adaptive dampers, and dimming side view mirrors. I am hoping Acura does not go this direction with their new TLX. I want to be able to get an A-Spec with all the tech features just like how you can with the current gen models. However, it doesn't seem like that's the direction Acura is heading with their new RDX.

I think Acura splitting the RDX A-Spec into its own trim was done on purpose. This will force people that want all the goodies on the sporty variant to go with the Type-S.

Can't relate since the TLX here in the U.S. has had the strange packages since day one...I will never get this logic.

Packages and exterior/interior color combos have strange logic. The Canadian and USA are probability all made in the same manufacturing centers.

I was told by this reputable tuning software company that 2021 model, Acura will have a 3.5L V6 Turbo. I have a 2020 and wanted a plug and play tuning remapping system. But that company only makes for turbo vehicle
and they spoke to a tech from Acura at a trade show in Las Vegas that on the late 2020 - 2021 Acura model will have a 3.5L V6 Turbo. Just hope it is confirm...

Here's my prediction:

Base 2.0T with SHAWD optional
Tech 2.0T with SHAWD optional
Aspec 2.0T with SHAWD optional
Advance 2.0T with SHAWD optional

Base will come with 10AT and finally ditch the 9AT.

Tech Type S with SHAWD standard
Advance Type S with SHAWD standard

Maybe come with the 11 DCT they filed a patent for?

I would think the Type S won't need the Aspec because it would already come with cosmetic differences. Time will tell....

I believe you may be right unfortunately. I personally will be going for the SH-AWD variant without Type S. But I want to have an Advance A-Spec with SH-AWD. That is what Canada can get right now which is amazing. I want to be able to have all the features and still have the car looking sporty. I am not a fan of the chrome.
