2019 tlx 3.5 a spec... warranty?

Is there any recommendation on a extended warranty on a new one of those? Bumper to bumper along with wheels, glass, and door dings for 100,000 miles. For the low low price of $2500

I have a 2015 and never got extended warranty. Never needed it. The only warranty I used was the one Acura sent out for extended powertrain warranty and I'm getting a new transmission put in this week. Otherwise, have had 0 issues with any other things in the car.

It's always a personal preference. My philosophy is to never buy an extended warranty - figuring if I ever have an expensive repair all the money I've saved by never paying for an extended warranty over the years will more than pay for it.

Thats a tough call. What is the deductible? I broken windshield on your TLX can easily run over $1,000 because of lane departure stuff etc. But then, even if you have to pay for a new windshield, and say $800 in Mechanical issues, you would be at a loss ($2,500 payment to get $1,800 in warranty claims). Plus, a dollar today is worth more than a dollar tomorrow. Maybe keep your money, and hope you don't have 2500 in expenses. If it was around the 1500-1800 mark and you plan to keep the car past 100K it might be worth it. At 2,500, its a risk not sure worth it

Hmmm, while honestly either way you couldn't go wrong, speaking from experience as someone who used to work at Acura dealer, plus in the past 10 years we have purchased 3 Acura's with 100K mile warranties, overall i would say probably not worth it. Especially with the uncertain times and covid at the moment. First of all, unlikely your Acura will rack up over $2,000 in mechanical issues. Even if you had $3,000 worth of repairs of 6 years (which is overall unlikely), its a smarter move to keep that money know and spread $3,000 over 6 years vs $2,500 at the moment.

Are you about to purchase a new Acura, is that why you are asking? Or did you already buy it? Reason I ask, is you can technically buy an extended warranty anytime during first 4 years 50,000 miles. On my 2015 TLX, I didn't buy the warranty when brand new, instead 3 years 11 months in I bought the warranty. I got a 5 year from that date (so 9 years total) and a total of 80K on the clock (It only has 24K at the moment so total of 80k was more than plenty for my needs). This way, I basically got a 9 year warranty, plus the price was obviously way lower than you stated, granted I worked at the dealership at the time and got a deal, and doesn't include wheel or windshield. This has several advantages. Obviously you get a longer term. Plus, if you unexpectedly sell the car or get in an accident, yes you can get some of your money back, but what a headache. Plus, you'll know your car and if 4 years go trouble free more than likely following 4 years will be relatively trouble free (or at least less then $2,500 worth of issues). Only cons would be you cant lump it into your payments if thats an issue for you, plus you wouldn't have wheel and windshield protection.

Our first extended warranty was on our 09 TL. We sold it just past 100K mark. If I recall, maybe one small mishap came up, but probably would have cost a few hundred bucks, so we lost on that one. My dad replaced it with 18 RLX Advance Sport Hybrid and we got the warranty because of the extensive drive train and all the high tech is has in the car. Hopefully the car won't have issues.

Whatever you do, do not get a 3rd party warranty. Those are cheaper but a headache. Only get official Acura warranty. Finance guys might try to talk you into the 3rd party options but I would steer clear of those.

Also 6 year 100K? Not the best. Standard warranty is 4yr 50K comprehensive 6 year 70K powertrain. So you already have a 6 year warranty on your powertrain. Yes, your extending the miles, but thats it for the powertrain. Comprehensive is nice to extend, but honestly at 6 year I would pass. 8 year 120K I think would be more entertaining.
