2018 Silver TLX - Vinyl Roof Black Gloss?

Hello All,

I need your guys's input(s).

I'd like to wrap my roof. Glossy Black Vinyl.

It's a 2018 LSM (Silver) TLX.

In my eyes, I think it's going to look beautiful. However, I don't want to look like a try hard, ghetto, tacky person.

I greatly appreciate as many inputs. The more blunt, the better.

Thanks in advance!

---John

Who cares what we think, if you think it'll look good then do it. Maybe there's someone here with the same color and who did wrap it who could hopefully show you a picture, but if you think it'll look good then it doesn't matter what we or anyone else thinks. Don't let others dictate what you do to your possessions.

I have yet to see a silver TLX in person, but yours looks pretty good. Honestly, I don't think there's a bad TLX color.

Agreed. Car looks great as is but go for it if you are so inclined. As an aside, prefer the front end fog light design over the A-Spec.

Agreed. I think Acura held out Silver as an ASpec color to introduce it next year or later and keep people interested. With dark rims and a possible all black leather choice the car would be perfect.

Honestly I don't think a blacked roof will ever look bad on a car. If the Camry can do it, the TLX for sure can too. Just do it lol

Personally I don't care what other people think about what I drive & don't think anyone should let someone else drive a decision about paint trim etc.

That said the fact you phrased the question they way you did says you might think its ghetto. Nice thing about a wrap is you can always take it off if you are not happy with it.

Lunar Silver Metallic is a really nice color. Glad to see it has finally trickled down from Honda to Acura

Thank you everyone for your informative feedback. True, I shouldn't have to stop my self from going forward with something that I really want to do to my possesion. And yes, good thing to know it is reversible.

The vinyl wrap will be my New Year's Gift to myself.

I appreciate the compliments on my LSM. On the night of my purchase, it was a difficult decision between GLM and LSM. I'm not a usual fan of the typical silver on cars but this one had a blue-ish tint to it and that tipped the scale for me. And since white, black, and graphite are what's hot right now, I figured I need to break the mold and show up in a often detailed silver car. I am loving it.

Thanks again you guys!

Do you guys know how to remove the shark fin for the tlx? I can't find anything any clips that are holding down the lining other than the handles.

From what I heard about the sharkfin, is it's a whole process of taking off the rear cabin light and accessing it from there (though I may be mixing it up with the 3G TL procedure). That being said, I know alot of shops just wrap around the fin and then wrap the fin individually. Up close it may not look as clean, but from far away it'll look good. Plus who examines the fin that much anyway?
