My 16 year son just bought a 2015 V6, unbeknownst to us, the shady private seller used a scan tool to cleared the codes just before we took delivery—was told by a mechanic when we went to do the emissions to get it registered, the emissions status reads "not ready" in about 4 catagories. My question is how long does it takes for the "check engine light" or any code to come back on, we've driven it for 150+ miles after delivery of the car. Constant highway 65-70 MPH too and city driving. So far no "check engine light"... but cannot pass emissions.

Did the seller not provide evidence of smog test prior to sale? Onus should be on them

 

He did but that was back in April of 2024, lots of thing could of happened since then and now ...

 

The owners manual states '...several days of driving under a variety of conditions.'
