XLR8 Exclusive Coilover!!!!

We have partnered with TEIN to manufacture custom coilover application for Excelerate for the 09+ Acura TL FWD and AWD. This kit will be unique and limited. It will be different than any other coilover on the market. Here is the information on the XLR8 coilover:

Mono Tube internal construction
Steel body with black Teflon coating on the exterior
Spring seat and locks
Hard Rubber Top Mounts for front and rear
16-way Damping force adjustable (compression & rebound combined)
Straight springs included (front springs are custom length)
EDFC compatible
Compatible for both FWD and AWD
Available for overhaul in CA and GA
Product decal on each damper will include XLR8 logo

Basically, this kit is very similar in design to the Comfort Sport. It brings together comfort and performance. This damper is specifically designed for drivers seeking to improve performance, without sacrificing ride quality. Vehicle sway is reduced to increase stability during cornering and increase handling. The mono tube internal design of the damper is superior to a twin tube damper and it has internal technology to allow for smooth and quiet operation. Ride height and damping force adjustable (16-levels), as well as EDFC compatible. Developed with larger wheels and tires in mind, the spring rates and damping force provides the perfect balance of performance and comfort.

In order to get this product moving we would need a commitment from at least 10 members; I actually have to order significantly more for the production run. This would mean starting a list of those who want to purchase the coilover set; a 50% deposit would be required up front and 50% would be required before shipping. I will also need a vehicle for the R&D phase for at least a week.

This coilover would cost roughly $2,000 for each unit. This is a very limited part and as such will be run in small batches. Please make a list if you are truly interested in the ultimate suspension for the 4th gen TL.

I'd like to get the prototype built immediately so that production can occur during the slower months and we can ship all the units by the spring.

The actual prototype unit is going to cost me significantly more since it's the first unit although it will be a finished unit. So although you would be offering your vehicle up for testing I can't offer you any discount on the first unit since I will be taking a huge loss. However, you will get free installation and I will help you out on future purchases for volunteering your vehicle and time.

We had a couple people interested in being the tester for this product but I haven't gotten any definite dates so we're opening it up again. Who is interested?

We will need the vehicle at least once but possibly twice, both for about a week at a time. Please email me at sales@excelerateperformance.com more information.

I need a tester in the CA area who is willing to help us move forward on the project. If we can do it soon we can get these produced for spring comes.

Here is a summary of the features:

Mono Tube internal construction
Steel body with black Teflon coating on the exterior
Spring seat and locks
Hard Rubber Top Mounts for front and rear
16-way Damping force adjustable (compression & rebound combined)
Straight springs included (front springs are custom length)

You will basically have all the comfort of the TEIN SS with the performance similar to a TEIN FLEX. The product will be very similar to the Comfort Sports.

Here is some info on the monotube construction too:

I'm really interested in these, except being located in the MW puts me at a BIG disadvantage for test fitting. Someone else has to be willing to step up
