Which wheels will fit better?

Both options are avant garde m550 wheels in silver, my car is lowered on tein street advance coilovers, I am willing to get my fenders rolled:

19x8.5 35 offset, 245 tires all around

Or

19x9.5 33 offset, 245 tires all around

***sorry if there's a thread similar to this but I couldn't find it

So which will fit better and which will look better?

it depends on what YOU think looks better.

19x8.5 +35 will look VERY similar to stock.

if you're going to upgrade wheels, you might as well do something MORE aggressive than stock.
my opinion and how I feel anyway.

Do the 19x9.5 +33's!

Wheels that push a full inch further to the fenders look "VERY similar to stock?"

OP, if you are lowered and don't want to chance dealing with rolling fenders, I would recommend the 8.5" wide wheels. Also, you may want to research your wheel selection a bit. Avant Garde, much like Vossen, is really overpriced for what you are getting. I have seen multiple sets of Avant Garde wheels with questionable build and finish quality considering their higher than normal asking price.

From what i read about them, apparently they're better than most cast wheels because they are JWL certified as well as low pressure cast instead of gravity cast. But I have no experience with them like you do so you may be right. I'm looking to get something in the same price range as the avants so I know forged won't be an option. Also I don't want to stretch tire that much so thats why I was looking at 8.5 but they still come out an inch more so will that still not be aggressive enough?

Are there wheel brands you suggest in that price range?

I could get the avants for $1095 shipped which I thought was pretty good for there

For pretty close to the same price, (maybe ~$100 more), you could get the TSW Sochi. Similar design to the M550 or Vossen CV3 but they are part of TSW's Rotary Forged lineup. Lighter weight and stronger design. TSW's overall quality is also going to be reasonably better than most cast wheels out there.

wow I actually just came across those right now! I saw that they were rotary forged and they actually look better! So these would definitely be better quality than the avant gardes?

the only problem is that they don't have 19x8.5 in on our bolt pattern so I'm not sure what size to look at. I want to be decently aggressive and also not have to stretch tire too much, any suggestions?

Absolutely and without a doubt. We put them on my buddy/coworker's car. They're pretty nice wheels. Just be warned that, probably like the M550's, the stock photo always shows the most aggressive fitment with the most concave face. An 8.5" wide wheel will not have that deep concave look. Really though, any wheel is going to be like that. To achieve that deeper concave you have to have more width and offset.

19x8 +35 is the safe choice. Looks like you have to go to a 19x9 +20 after that. I'm not sure about fitment. You'd have to ask some of the other guys around here if a 9" +20 will fit without rubbing, especially on a lowered setup. I know my 20x9 +35's fit fine with a 255/35R20 tire but I'm also not lowered.

thanks for all the help man. after using a offset calculator i got these results:

19x8 35 will give me 20mm more inner and extend 20 more mm
19x9 20 will give me 22mm more inner and extend 48 more mm
19x9.5 will give me 4mm LESS inner clearance and extend 34 mm

my question is the 19x9 be too aggressive and come out to far? and will the 19x9.5 cause problems because their will be less inner clearance? if you guys could answer these questions that would be great! thanks

I would say the bigger issue you're going to run into, since you don't want to stretch tires, is that a 245/35R20 is basically maxed out on a 9.5" wide wheel, as far as what is recommended from most manufacturers. The clearance numbers do look better with the 9.5" than with the 9" though. Hopefully somebody who has run a similar setup can chime in.

would putting a 9.5 on a 245 be stretching too much? will it be safe?

It would be safe, it's just the very edge of what is recommended.

As long as its safe, that's the main thing. I think with the 19x9 that the wheels will extend too much. Also with the 19x9.5, will it be a problem that there will 4mm less of inner clearance?

Old bridge, are there any local shops near you that carry wheels in stock you can look at? I know in north NJ, there are a few with well over 50 different wheels on display. If you were closer I would show you my wheels so you could have seen the difference with a concave and a flat wheel.

Not really by me, there's a couple decent shops but nothing special. I've been to a few up north, there's a lot up there. What wheels are you running now?

They're not currently on the car and still new in the box, but Vossen vfs2 in satin bronze. They are also 20"s but it would still give you an idea. The fronts are 20"x9" with a 35 offset, the rears are 20"x10.5" with a 42 offset.

Would 19x9.5 up front be too big for up front? Will this cause a lot of rubbing? Because the only problem is the 19x9 have a 20 offset and then the next size is 19x8 with a 20 offset. Will the 19x8 be too small and not look aggressive enough? I know some of this is opinion but I want to know what people with experience think. Thanks guys

You should be fine. What's the offset? I had 20x10.5 +35 with 245/35 tires and no rubbing. I can do full turns too but helps with stretched tires.

The offset is 40 on the 19x9.5. I am willing to roll my fenders so that is an option. Like I said I just don't want to have to be making a million adjustments just to get the fronts to fit. I am also running 245s all around and am also lowered on Tein SA. It's either the 9.5 or 8 as my two options

That is pretty close to flush. It may poke just a little in the front but nothing significant. Go 9.5. 8 is way too conservative. You want a little agressive look at least. You will need to roll the fenders but that's it.

That's what I want, I want it to be aggressive but not overly aggressive where it will cause a lot of problems. As long as the 9.5 in the front won't cause problems and rub everytime I turn then that's fine with me

Also then 9.5 will give me 4mm less clearance towards the strut? Is that a problem?

I think I'm going to go with the 19x9.5 all around. Im gonna stay with my 245's as well and have my fenders rolled, hoping this will be good enough

you have more than enough room.. i run a 9.5 +12 on a 255/35 up with no camber needed.. i did have my fenders rolled but you get the idea..

He's also running 20" so you'll have more clearance.

Here you go. I only have a couple pictures from when I test fitted them before putting my winter setup back on.
