Seems like it would be easier to avoid the curb than to try and install these puppies

If that little strip comes loose at speed it will leave some serious damage on your fender. Buy some touch up paint and...

Yea for $150 bucks shipped you can pick up a pair of wheel protectors that go around the outside lip that are much easier to install then these and they protect more of the wheel. They also come in multiple colors but black or silver blends right in. Here is the website link http://www.infinityworldwide1.com/wheelprotector.htm check them out i have had them on my Tl for 6 months now work great.

lol its not rocket science... metal wheel rubbing against concrete...

if you sat there and actually thought about it.. what would happen if those two rubbed together... and how is the PLASTIC wheel protector going to help in the stuation..

save your $100+ dollars.. your better off getting some overpriced vled switchback triton's then to get these rings.

One of the benefits of the brand of wheels that I bought...you can have the lip replaced. I don't know if that's common with most wheels but I thought it was a cool feature. Fortunately I am extremely cautious when turning or parking so I don't expect to need any replaced.

The ones I have on my car from http://infinityworldwide1.com/wheelprotector.htm
go around the lip of the wheel and are not held on by tape. they are held on by a center clip also the pressure of the tire holds it down. I had the ones with the tape they where garbage. These hold extremely well my wife took a curb real hard on it and they held up real nice and no damage to any part of the lip on my wheel.

"Using the pressure of the tire holds it down".

But will that affect the sealing ability of the tire around the bead area ?

No doesn't affect the tire I never leak air. When I installed it you basically deflat the tire a little you slide them into the grove then you size it and put the center clip on usually by the valve steam so you cant really see it. I have it on two cars a tl and benz and they both work great. I use to get my wife's wheels repaired at least once every three months for a 100 a rim. Here is the site you can check out the images or videos and I attached a pic so you can see how it blends real nice.http://infinityworldwide1.com/wheelprotector.htm
