Talked to my selling dealer about a purchase of take off wheels to put on my base 09 TL. He had one set of 19 inch take offs from a MDX or RDX and four Goodyear RSA's for approx. $1400. This includes everything. Haven't priced the tires but I think he's charging $200 each. So he's asking for $400 for the rims. I haven't started to seriously haggle with him but I see him making $400 on the rims because he paid nothing for them. I might offer $200 for them and see if he bites. What's the verdict with you all?

 

Doesn't sound like a bad deal. I would definitley haggle with the guy. What do they look like anyway?

 

I would check out the weight on these babies so you know what you are getting into...I think these are 19x8.5's and they will be heavier than the 17x8's you have, and could be significantly heavier, with attendant performance penalties...

 

I assume it's the standard 19 inch wheel. Silver, not chrome.

 

RDX wheels 5x114 and the TL is 5x120. MDX is also 5x120. The MDX wheels will fit but why? They are ugly. Even the 2010 advance package wheels are so MDX specific that everytime someone who knows Honda/Acura will know that those are MDX wheels.
The correct tire size for the MDX is 255/50-19 the TL size is 245/40-19. If the tire is from the MDX it will not work with the TL.

 

OP, you did not state what size tires, but if the tire sizes postulated above are correct, those 50 series tires are dangerously large for a 4G TL. You are way out of range on the rolling diameter.

Consider wisely before buying...
