Vossens. Should I?

So I just purchased a 2012 TL, and part of my initial attraction to the vehicle were the wheels that came with it as a result of the car being a Thor demo model. They look great, and add a sinister look to my car. The chrome Acura logo stands out perfectly on the black center caps.

You can view more pictures here: https://acurazine.com/forums/4g-tl-photograph-gallery-296/2012-crystal-black-pearl-advance-s-h-i-e-l-d-tl-843322/

I can't help but want a little more flash though. I have my eye on the 19" Vossen VVSCV1 Matte Black Machined with SS Lip. You can view them here: http://www.carid.com/vossen-wheels/v...ed-351029.html

They're pricey, but freakin' sweet. Ultimately my decision to make, but whadday think? Will the wheels be a $1500 improvment? How much do you think I could I get for my current wheels?

I think the new wheels would look great, but why get rid of the stock wheels? Why not use them as your winter setup, unless you live in a warm climate year round and they are not necessary to hold onto?

I do live in a warm climate- no need for winter wheels. I'll probably sell them just to soften the blow of the Vossen wheels if I choose to go that route.

Yeah, good move with selling the stock rims to soften the blow. As I'm new to the Acura scene myself, I'm not quite sure how much the stockers sell for. My advice would be to search the black market for one's that have sold previously and base your price somewhere around there. Good luck with everything!

19:19 = not worth it.

Dealers sell your stock 19's (non Thor edition) for 1600 + shipping on eBay. I don't know what people see in those wheels, I'm not a fan. They'll soon be making wheels they had on display at SEMA show for sale, which are hot!

Thanks KarKraze. Great minds think alike. The thread was helpful... didn't realize how heavy the Vossen wheels are.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. After reading some of the comments and taking a good look at my car... I think I'm gonna hold off. I may do the 20's in the future, but I'm happy for now.

your car wont look good with just wheels, you need to invest in some suspensions..

its like trying to look good with nice clothes..

but in a wrong size..

also, so you purchased a thor edition, but you want to take the thor edition out of it by changing the rims..

essentially you bought a black tl then.. right?

Haha. Point well taken. I've already removed the badges... I'm thinking I'm going to leave the wheels on. Suspension may be my next mod though.

I had Vossens on my accord. Still have them in my garage. Not sure what to do with them because they will look weird on the TSX i think.

Vossen is an AMAZING company. I cracked a wheel going through a construction site over the summer, and Vossen sent me a new wheel -- for free -- without me sending the damaged one to them first. They are such a great company..
