Suspension H&R or Tein SS
Suspension H&R or Tein SS
I use my car as a daily, and I don't believe I would have it as a slammed look either. At almost 40 I would like to keep the ride. But I want it to ride nice (like it does now), and get some nice rims to give it a flush look. Should I get the H&Rs now or wait and save up for some real coils? I hear all the time from others that say Coils ride rough and afraid of that. Ones that are good I hear are BC but they don't have them available for our year TL. Also have to keep it nice for my parents too that I give rides too.
What do you guys think?

springs are the cheap way out.. oem struts are not made to be lowered. by putting lowering springs (which are stiffer by the way) makes the ride stiffer than before.. its not a dramatic change but you can feel it..
With tein ss, they are built to be comfortable in any height you chose to set it on. With the ability to adjust your rate of dampening, you cant go wrong with it. I have it on my car, its been on for about 18k miles and till this day its still smooth. I have already gave my review on my thread before, it is smoother than stock. It is a very noticeable difference as well. Being that it is 16 way adjustable, 0 being stiffest and 16 being softest, i had mine set at 14 and it rides like butter and i am maxed out on lowering it.
i am not sure how good BC coils are, but from what i was told those are performance coils. Tein has years of reputation to back up their product and i go with tein because you really cant go wrong with them. With the ability to use EDFC to adjust dampening on the fly, it is just more convenient for people that just DD and want to get a better ride.
since you dont plan to lower but you want the smooth ride, i say go with tein ss. Also, coils most of the time ride smoother than springs unless your getting track coils, then that is a whole different story.. like buddyclubs or something..
if money is not an option, go with coils, if your on a budget, get springs and call it a day... personally i would spend the extra dollars for the better stuff

I second the coils. Had done only springs on my previous car and, had to replace struts later etc.
I am on the teins for about 5 months now and they are pretty good. With the controller you can adjust the firmness of the ride. At firsts I just thought it was a gimmick but you can actually feel the difference between the soft/mid/firm. Definitelt something to consider.
