Starting the search for 19's or 20's

I'm starting my search for wheels. I've got Wintersport M3's on my 18" OEM wheels, and in April I'm going to need a replacement. Here are the wheels that I've been looking at. I like some of these as 19's, but think 20's are a minimum for the giant wheel wells of the 4G. Thoughts?

First the RJ's ones.

Or.

Or these in 19" - RJ said they could change them to 5x120

Then I found these MSR Style 093 wheels... look pretty hot in Super Finish Black.

Or the Axis Penta in hyperblack.

I think the legend type II's are at the top of my list... I kinda like the idea of the liquid silver or satin black ones on my CBP...it's a pretty killer lip also, I think the black ones would be really stunning on the CBP.

Thoughts? Anyone have other wheels to recommend? Trying to keep this around $1500-$1800ish. Whatever wheels I buy are staying with me for a very long time... so gotta make it count.

I really like the Legend II's in the liquid graphite. The Axis Penta in hyperblack don't look bad either.

No offense, but I'm not much into the black colored wheels, especially on a black car. Just reminds of of the old black steel wheels from the '70s LOL.

Those Legend II's would just really look hot on your super clean CBP.

Hmm... I've got the sickest idea... but i cant share it... because I want to be the first with them!! lol

However, i think RJ might be releasing his new wheel line soon enough...

Sentinels? I saw those wheels in another thread, and they looked great. I heard the project was dead, if not though...I hope they come out in the next 3 months.

Stuart, I agree on the black wheels, black car thing... That why I'm leaning towards the Hyperblack or the Liquid Graphite ones...Something that's not shiny, but has a bit of darker look to it.

Well, you're no fun... Look forward to the plenty of photos of whatever new wheels you do end up getting.

I like em, very nice. Only down side I see is it could take longer the clean & detail the wheels as it would the whole car.

^^ Good point... Looking at some of the Vossen wheels after one of the other threads, I stumbled upon this beauty...

From the looks of the other thread if I go with a:
20 x 9 +35 w/ a 235/35/20 I should be good and won't rub.
I'm not a huge fan of the staggered look, but I want to make sure it doesn't rub, and I could possibly lower it w/ springs and still not rub.

I think they are the same wheels from this thread and they look damn hot on that Accord. They'd look even better on your TL.

Yea, that's where I saw them, and then Blackura - in his infinite wheel wisdom, said in this thread, what size to get... I looked at the Vossen site, showing other cars with those wheels and...damn... seriously hot.

http://www.vossenwheels.com/gallery/...LL_VVS083.aspx

I think those might be the ones... will need to keep looking and etc. Now on to confirmation that the size/offset is correct.

20x9 +35 w/ a 235/35/20 tire.

I think 20s would definitely look nice, but I think I'd be too worried about damaging them, especially on our horrible Boston area roads...what do you think Pete? When the time comes, I think I'm going to limit myself to 19s for that reason...or maybe my wallet will keep me in 18s

Thats a pretty bad ass fitment. If you ever lower car (which even though you say you WONT, you most likely will... you've been on AZ long enough to know how the story goes).... it will look bad ass.... too much of a drop may have a little rubbing in the front, but probably not

Good Fitment for the 4G IMO

20x8 +30
20x8.5 +35
20x9.0 +40
20x9.5 +45
20x10 + 55 (Rear only)

I am already 100% dedicated to the wheels I am getting. just pending i see the available finishes...

it will be 20x9 +45 ... not super aggressive, but its gonna look beautiful.. They dont offer a lower offset, and id rather not screw around with spacers...

Thanks man.. you're right too, I probably will lower the car. I'll need to see how it is with the 20's, but maybe a 1-2 drop might be in order

Is there a dummies guide to offsets somewhere, that explains all that. I don't really understand how you guys are able to know which offsets and tire sizes will rub and which ones won't...

If you go with 235/35/20 tires, isn't that narrower than the stock 245 setup? Not saying there's anything wrong, I just thought most people go wider for better traction.
I was thinking about 255/35/20, fender rolling if necessary.

Yes I think 245/35/20 would be a better fit. Pete have you looked in Work Wheels? Work Varianza or some Schwert's would look dope on your car. I personally would choose Work over Vossen though

No I haven't checked them out... I'll do some searching and see what those are like.

How do you guys know tire sizes and if they'll fit/have a better fit than others? Just from experience, or is there something out there that tells you which sizes work better?

Ideally I would like to get the wheel/tire combo that will be the best fitment without rubbing (i don't want to deal with rolling the fenders). I may drop the car, but nothing slammed, maybe 1-2 inches max. (set of springs or something).

lol, nah no dummies guide.... but once you learn the math behind it all, its pretty easy....

Any questions, feel free to give me a shout... ive installed wheels on all my cars, and ive helped alot of friends with their installations... never once ran into a rubbing issue
