SH-AWD wheels on my 5 x 114 Accord!

Knocked out the Taper'd Lug Washers from the rear and gave me the clearance to throw them on my Accord! No vibrations at all, the wheels snagged right on the hub ring as if it was a reg 5 x 114 wheel!

Well I threw it up here because of the wheels... I'm a noob so I didn't think there's an Accord section, but I'll look for it if there is one.

I just knocked out the Lug Washers out the back of the wheels and it gave me the 5mm clearance... Since its an OEM wheel it grabs on the hub ring on the spindle so It gives no vibrations!

love the look

but do you mean those steel inserts that are on the wheel itself inside of the lug nut holes

if so.... i hope you never over torque them even a little bit (aka lugnut pulls through the wheel itself), and those lug nuts will actually stay tight for you

and they look like stock lug nuts too, not even some of those wobble lug nuts, designed to fit wheels with the wrong bolt/pattern on a different car

Yeah I did knock those out! It gave me the clearance to fit them on, and used OEM lugs with a tapered wheel lock and torqued them down... But I didn't understand ur last part. What did u mean by wobble lug nuts?

So basically what you're saying is that you widened the lug holes on the wheel to make them fit? So now your lugs aren't centered in the bolt holes on the wheels? If that's the case I really hope you're the only one on the road when your wheel falls off. I'd hate for somebody else to be hurt because of your ignorance.

actually more specifically PCD variation lug nuts

Variation Bolt AKA Wobble Bolt Bolt for PCD Variation
Hex17 M12 x 1.25 x 29.5
With this new item you can use one wheel with unified center bore for several applications. This bolt is fitted with a mobile conical washer which keeps the bolt axis perpendicular to the car flange while allowing radial displacement and a consequent PCD variation.

Set of 16 - $64.00 Set of 20 - $80.00

^^^You and I are on the same page. This is the only thing that would make this setup even remotely safe. Without adapters like these, if the lugs aren't centered in the bolt holes on the wheels it's not safe. Honestly, even with something like that it's just way too many variables when considering securing the only thing between your vehicle and the road IMO.

Lmao! Well some pics were taken in Elmont and Valleystream LongIsland and some were in my neighborhood.

Not sayin that I didn't take precautions... But what do YOU say to them (cali-tuners) who are putting 9-10" wheels with 205 or 215 wide tires on their cars? Talk about saftey.... That's even worst compared to what ur even trying to say! Imagine coming around a bin and ur tires bead gives out due to the heat and extream stretch of it??? I just did a 1 and a half hr drive at about 75mph to Harriman State Park near Bear Mountain ( Up state new York- where I took that pic mid page ) with no problems, no vibrations, etc... And thats one of the steepest drives in NY...

personally i rather have a wheel still on the car, with a shredded tire, then no wheel at all

and so personally you rather have this happen then

personally still don't like the idea of them (i say buy the correct god damn rim, or get a machine shop to redrill the hub itself) , but they do there job though

And I'm not saying that tire stretching is safe by any means...but there's a big difference between losing a tire and losing an entire wheel assembly. When you lose an entire wheel assembly not only do you lose almost complete control of the car, but now there's also a wheel/tire assembly on the loose that could very likely end up through somebody's windshield. All for the sake of "style". Totally not worth it. The setup that you're on is not safe for you and, more importantly, it's not safe for the innocent people around you that are just going about their business.

BTW, hub adapters are absolutely the safest way to go if you're going to do this.

btw bdogg, look what i found

but basically what i think the OP did is hit those metal spacers/inserts that you can see aroung the lug nut holes out, so they would fit over the lugs

So if you knock those out, does it affect the lug seat? Do you no longer have a seat?

I'm confused. What did you find? I know exactly what he did and I'm just wondering how long it's gonna take until it falls off.

http://www.roadkillcustoms.com/hot-r...cers.asp?id=67

not cheap, but the easiest way to do it correctly though for adapting the wheels

^^^Perfect. I would even contemplate using these to run the SH-AWD wheels on our TL. BTW, those aren't the right ones you post. Those are 5-115 to 5-120 adapters. Not the same as 5-114.3.

yeah i did not see a "114.3", i figure they probably rounded it off (even though it should have been down if anything), so i posted the next closest thing (and a long day at work too , so did not fell like searching further)

I'm sure they exist somewhere. I've had a customer come in for vibration issues and upon further inspection find out that they had smashed a 5-114.3 pattern wheel onto a 5-115 hub. Bolt holes were completely wallowed out and starting to crack the wheels. Scary scenario. Same thing will likely happen to the OP's wheels if they manage to stay on the car long enough without falling off.

Oh and friesm, let me know if you ever wanna get into some racing out here in CO. I'm a pretty avid autocrosser and have been doing a decent amount of karting lately too.
