SH-AWD Owners - Suspension Mod Question
I have a customer who's female and about 60 years old who's just bought a 2010 SH-AWD Tech Package from me and is worried that the suspension on that model is too stiff for her liking - question is...is there anything you guys could suggest to soften the suspension a little?

Maybe swap the wheels to 17's? The bigger sidewall should make things softer. I'm not aware of any SH-AWD mods out there that would soften the ride. Springs are the only options we have thus far.
And here's my cynical answer - just getting this one out of the way.
Trade it in for a Lexus?

She actually bought 3 cars off me - one TL SH-AWD Tech each for her and her daughter and an RDX Tech for another daughter. She test drove elsewhere and called me asking for my best price - I had nothing to do with the vehicle selection process. I drove up to her house the other day and had her test drive the FWD model - in the end, she felt like it wasn't worth the compromise to lose the AWD, 18' Wheels and superior handling.

Going to 17" wheels & appropriately sized tires should make a world of difference.
Also, you can get tires that are further "down" the performance scale - higher performance tires generally have a stiffer sidewall.

The SH-AWD models already come with sports-tuned suspension so I don't know how you can "soften" it up any further. I agree with an earlier post that she would be better off in a Lexus (like an ES350 or GS350) or an E-or C-Class with 4-Matic.

I kind of think that is where Acura might have missed the mark a bit, but going so sporty on the AWD to use that to differentiate the FWD form AWD to me was a mistake. They shoudl take the AWD suspension and offer is a Type-S in the FWD which would and sell more FWD cars and also consider offering AWD in the softer current FWD setup. I know it adds more models, but I think in the end they might sell more. Sure I up bought becasue I hated the FWD ride, but the AWD was out of my price point until after some lengthy serious negotiations.
