Exclamation Say no to wheel locks

Just a heads up for anyone planning to get some wheel locks for their TL. I decided to buy a set from acura since I thought it would be nice to have (just in case). When I put one on...it stuck out like a sore thumb! it was at least 1/2 inch longer than the stock lugs. So now they are gonna be returned. Sorry no pics since it was so nasty looking that I had to take it off ASAP. haha (part number was 08W42-SJA-201A)

Mine stick out more than the other lugs, but its not an eyesore.... its just protection.... like a condom, it makes you feel safe lol.

Depends on the wheels, I have had a few Hondas where it was flush, on the TL they stick out but you can barely notice. Like the others said its just for peace of mind, they are easily removed if you want to.

Just re-torqued my 2010 base TL rims with wheel locks and almost stripped a couple of them breaking them loose! This on new rims on a new car with about 600 kms. And... it took a 3 foot breaker bar to release them! One is now buggered, but I'm glad to have them off!

They can take the f...n wheels if they want them, thats what insurance ifs for, but at least I won't be stranded somewhere!

The only way you stripped them taking them off is if they were re-tightened by someone at the dealer using an impact set with way to much force. I have taken wheel locks on and off a million times and never stripped once if they are put on properly and torqued down properly.

Got these acorn style wheel locks from gorilla. They do not stick out any farther than stock and have a rotating sleeve that hampers a would be thief from hammering on a socket. Only cost me 20$. Much better than the dealer ones I think, and not too much of an eyesore either.

I have a set of tuner lugs too. Every single one requires a key to come off. However, that's for aftermarket wheels. I guess for the OEM rims with different seating you don't have much choice. The locks that came with mine from the dealer stick out but it doesn't bother me.
