Wow Pete - Looks great

After seeing your wheels, I can't wait to pick up my car tomorrow evening with the 18" Chrome-Look wheels. The only difference I can see from the 18s vs 19s are the number of spokes. The 19s have 9 while the 18s have 10. I went with the 18" for the very reasons you cited for not going bigger than 19". I wanted a more aggressive look but didn't want to get the crap beat out of me on the roads around here. On my trip to NC over the holiday weekend, I did notice that the 17s plowed a bit but then again I was used to my S2000. They wheels look great!

Thanks. Yeah, a lot of guys here recommend going with 20's, but I don't live in the West Coast with its butter-smooth roads.......I'm a little concerned with how my 19's will hold out on Chicago's streets in coming year. I originally wanted to get the 19" Diamond-Cut wheels but figured the Chrome-look wheels matched better with my paint color.

Very, very, very nice...although 20's would be a better fit IMO cuz the car is bigger then the previous model??

I agree.....but where I live, you would be a fool to drive around with 20's. I had more than my share of broken rims, flat tires and damaged suspension components over the years at the hands of Chicago's hellish streets. Heck, I'm even nervous driving around with my 19's. Actually, in person, the 19's don't really look all that small on the 4G TL.....actually, compared to the 17's I had before, the 19's look enormous.

Well who ever says this looks like the GS, ur wrong the GS is not ugly. But this the rims did make the car look a little better, but it still ugly. But if u were to have gotten those BMW M6 rims, then ur car would actually good.

Looks Great, this car is starting to grow on me and I think I like it better than the TSX '09!
I think you need a 1' inch drop though..

.....again, not for Chicago streets. You guys in the West Coast and in Florida need to come here and drive the infamous streets of Chicago to know what I mean.

Pete,

with the Daley-Memorial potholes aside, how are you liking the ride with the 19"? Is the suspension still as forgiving as with the stock 17"?

I think I would enjoy the added grip of the tire upgrade, but don't want to give up how well the cars arse is restrained on rough roads...

I do like the looks alot, btw...

The ride is a little stiff/rougher with the 19's.....which is to be expected. You can feel road imperfections quite a bit more than with the 17's. However, the up-side is the much improved grip, handling and stopping power. To me, the trade-off is worth it for the improved handling and appearance.

Nice ride. I like that color. The rims do make these look better.

Thanks, yes the wheels do make quite a difference! It's too bad the base TL's and TL Tech's don't have a wheel upgrade option....they leave it up to the customer to order the upgrade wheels through the parts dept. which can be very expensive. Luckily I found my wheels from an Acura parts dealer on Ebay and saved quite a bit of money.

I got mine through the dealership but at a somewhat good price. I also got the old rims and tires if I want to use them for the winter.

Is it just me or are the bolt holes randomly drilled? It doesn't seem to have any pattern around the bolts. I can't wait to get a 09 though. I like your new car.
