How do you feel about these on a TL?

I bought some niche's already but before i mount tires on them i've been exploring some options. I always liked HRE wheels specially P40SC series, i think they are absolutely beautiful.

Well i came accros some avant garde wheels that look very familiar (M590), cast iron obviously but for TL will do just fine. I asked around what ppl thought of them and was told that on a TL split spoke design wouldn't look good. It's more of a CV3 style body due to it rugged edges. Would you guys agree?
I can pick up a set of 4 of these 20x10 +38 for under $1600. What do you think?
Here are some pics of them.

Mine are brand new, never mounted so I can sell them for $800 plus shipping. Shipping wont be cheap tho since you're in Canada.

I absolutely love the P40's. My friend has them on his C63 AMG and I've always found them to be overall such a simple nice looking set of wheels. Not a fan of the $6k+ pricing though.

I have a set of these in 19 custom powder coated from their Bespoke program sitting in my basement ready to mount in the spring:

How do you feel about these on a TL?-d2woqcq.jpg

They are fairly light for their size (24lbs @ 19x8.5) and look great in my opinion. Look into their Bespoke program, for an affordable price you can have a custom offset machined along with a center bore to match the 4G.

Grigio, did you say they are cast iron wheels? Also I would drill holes in the tires for better air flow. What do the niches look like and size? What all does it include just the wheels?

I really like the spokes on HRE flow formed and the AG cast ones, the forged ones have thinner spokes that I find less appealing. That said its a really good looking wheel.

I believe Jackie TL has the same style wheels from Advant Garde too. I think they will look great. If you really want it, go for you it before you mount tires on the Niches lol.

BTW, I think you meant to say it is cast aluminum (as most wheels are) and not cast iron wheels. If that was the case, it would be quite a heavy wheel.

Thanks for your feedback guys. Just sent Avant Garde an email to help locate a dealer that participates in bespoke program near me.

Looking to possibly order a custom set in satin gold.

Just because someone put them on an Aston or photoshopped them on doesn't mean it looks good. So if someone put teddy bear rims on a Lamborghini it would look cool?

I'm not a fan of the gold either. Grigio exotics or near exotics can get away with a lot of crazy shit, for example lambo's and ferraris with pinstripe dub style wheels looks like shit on anything other than a lambo or ferrari.

Why would I hide in a corner? Go drive around with no seatbelt and your fake stick shift and pretend you have a real sports car. A TL is by no means a sports car like you think it is. That's some advice that I just added to this thread and forum, I'm sorry if I shattered your pipe dreams and yes those rims look like garbage in gold on any 4G TL. Don't be butt hurt over a thread that had nothing to do with you.

I've never seen someone hate so much on their own car they have... If you don't think a TL is a sports car then cool. I find the TL to be quite sporty in both handling and power. Sure it's not faster than other competition vehicles but for the size, it's actually the best handling car I've tested.

It's a sporty sedan, I don't hate it at all, I'm realistic about what I own. After owning vettes, mustangs and a new sho the TL is not in the same class as them. This statement doesn't equal hate one bit, it's just a true statement, maybe you are so in love with your TL and it's the fastest and best handling car you have personally owned doesn't mean that in reality that it actually is.

I love gold wheels. I think it makes the car and wheels stand out more. If you're gonna do it, do it right. So all the chrome trimmings will need to be vinyl wrapped in black at the very least IMO. Unless you go with a chrome lip and gold disk. That was what I orginally wanted to do but it is beyond my budget right now to pull of that look. Maybe in the near future. I just want her on new shoes this year.

I've driven sportier cars but I've just found the TL to be greatly equal in sporty and luxury. I had a 2013 C63 AMG all weekend and that was loads of fun but the tail whipped turning on traffic lights and the car did not like stop and go traffic either.

Yea, I'll stay clueless. I have driven an AMG 63 as well and it's a much more powerful car than the TL from the start. The first thing most owners of those cars do is switch out the tires to something stickier from what I'm told. I had a chance to drive one for three laps at the Vineland auto cross track in NJ. The rear was a little wild but that's what made it fun and challenging at the same time. There were a few AWD Gallarados on the track and those things were at the front of those 3 laps every time they went out. I also got to drive a F430 that day and the rear on that was the worst I have ever driven, it didn't help that the tires were half shot either. The f430 finished last every time around the track.

Brock,

I don’t like gold rims neither, all about taste. Hence, your comments all over the forum have a negative color about the TL.
Your statements about, I have driven so and so cars (super cars) makes no sense at all. The TL is unmistakable a nice sport sedan in many ways.
And Brock drive safe and be careful driving Super Cars!!!

The supercar comments only related to the post above that I commented on, no where else on this forum have I brought that up. As for actually how I got to drive them is very easy and attainable for the average joe like myself. If you guys are familiar with Groupon they have these offerings 2-3 times a year in my area, well within 75 miles I should say. For 100 bucks you get to take a car out of your choice from what is available for a set amount of laps. The larger the course the less amount of laps. The only kick in the pants is the insurance which they don't tell you about anywhere in the fine print. I believe it starts at 150 per car and is non refundable. Anyways I do this once a year at different tracks and choose a different car every year as well. As for negative comments about the TL, they're not really negative, they are just facts about the car and the TL is not a sports car. People get upset when I say that, but the truth hurts I guess.
